Default I hate Ads that take over your computer

From today I will boycott every product that has an advertisement that takes over my computer screen without me clicking on it.

The Courier Mail has one today for the Holden Cruze and before you know it its driving across your screen and you cant look at what you wanted to until it has done its thing. :

Make sure that you let the advertiser know that you are doing so, and get as many others as you can to do likewise.

They get you by making it a "mouse-over". All you have to do is move the mouse over any part of the original ad's window and they claim you've asked to see it...

Admuncher is my recommendation. Alot more effective than adblock.

Problem with any of these applications is i like to read the online news while I eat my lunch, and you cannot install any of these on the work computers.

I dont see how the advertisers believe that annoying people will bring a positive spin to their product. Its like a billboard that jumps out in front of your car, you just wouldn't do it.

On the close button, I couldnt even see it, this car was all over the screen.

Hmm tweeked...

You could try running firefox off your usb drive, not sure about the adblock from the usb drive...

Sure it could be done, maybe try google.

Yea, I saw that Cruze one today on Ninemsn, very annoying ... I don't think the Close button even appeared on that until the advertisement had pretty much finished ... could be wrong?, but like you I certainly didn't see it.

Just went and had another quick look on Ninemsn before ... Cruze ad gone ... now it's bloody Aussie Home Loans filling the screen!

Just went onto nineMSN to see what you were talking about, and the Aussie Home Loan one came up, and my god it is annoying. But at the top where it says nineMSN there is a close button.

Edit: theres one on the Cruze one as well, but it cant be seen very well because its on top of all the writing.
