Default Chopped up Masterpieces....

Hey Guys,

For some reason I remembered seeing a Convertible EB Falcon at a race meet (I think Oran Park) back in the mid 90's... It wasn't a pace car, but it did do laps around the track between races....
Was a black over green/blue/aqua colour 2-tone paint job.
I can't remember if it was 2-door or 4-door... but it was 100% an EB convertible....

Does anyone ever remember seeing this car (or others)??

Anyone remember any other Chopped up masterpieces??

A good mate of mine has the only XY GT Limosuine in Victoria which is Vermillion Fire (the only others I know of are the white ones in Perth)

And I also remember seeing a VK Crummydore made into a ute in the late 90's(I think it was based on a VK wagon??)

I'm trying to find the photo that I have of the EB - I'm sure i took one.... If I find it, I will certainly post it....
And I've got heaps of fotos of the limo....

Anyway, interested to see if anyone can think of any others that they've seen...

I'm pretty sure the EB convertible you saw was actually an EA and it was originally red. It was built by Roman Automotive of Sydney as a shawcase for their products (Recaro, Momo etc) and I suspect the Hilliers may have had a hand in it's construction.

This car was a 2-door and very attractive but I don't think the other 2 cars you mentions, the XY limo or the VK ute, deserve the tag masterpieces. Yuk, they were hideous.

Ha, I don't like regular XY's so a bigger one isn't going to do it for me.

I found the EA via google, in it's latter (less attractive) colour; http://imcdb.org/vehicle_17819-Ford-Falcon-EA-1988.html

There is an EB wagon up here in Cairns that was converted to a 'GT' ute. It's a work of art. Has had features in mags.

The car yard I got my Marquis from years ago was trying to sell a white EA S-pack convertible... Was a bloody fantastic piece of work, apparently there were 3 or 4 produced by some cimpany when they were brand new. The previous owner of that car was on the forums for a while...

You can see why Ford Aus wanted export the Falcon to the US and to make the Falcon the basis for the Mustang in the late 80's, early 90's.

Pity we were forced to make Mercury Capri, which in later XR2 guise were quite a good unit.

That 2 door E-series that Street Machine was a great build up too. Nice clean lines, decent 200kWish 5.0L Windsor and a T5. I'm pretty sure it was a burnt orange / gold colour.

IIRC They even took it to You Yangs bowl and got a genuine 230kmh out of it.

It was called the Sony Scorcher. There were a couple of shells made. As well as the Scorcher itself, there is another that's been painted 2-tone orange and white.

The Scorcher:

The 2nd 2-door (not Scorcher):

More of the convertible:

I've got a mag from the late 80's warly 90's somewhere with an XY GT convertible - looks ace - no soft-top though.
The convertible EA/EB was in Motor mag with a bunch of Penthouse girls back when it was red.

I remember Sony Scorcher back when i was quite young and used to read Street Machine. They got 240kw out of it. The only thing that let it down was the rubbish wheels and the dodgy side mouldings that dont line up too well.

Wink EB Convertable

Back about six months ago there was an EB 4 door convertable on ebay in Brisbane I had a bid on it but it got pulled at $3500 so I missed it
4 litre 5 speed with compliance plate but it had a bit of rust on the "chassis"

I remember reading about a panel shop that was selling a non-paying customers car.

It was an E series coupe / 2dr sedan I think. Had a heap of custom work done.

I think the owner had already put in around 30 grand (or that was what was owing to the panel shop) prior to the owner giving up on the job.
