I was going to suggest a 300C but you may not get a V8 model for 30G.
Are second hand FG G6Es that cheap yet? Probably wouldn't get a turbo though. You could always look at a Aurion as well. They are surprisingly spritely for a 3.5L V6 and you dont really get too much torque steer from them. More interior room in them than a BA too IMO. The seats are a bit flat but honestly thats better for those of us with "large" behinds compared to trying to squeeze our buttocks between the side bolsters of BA seats.

Any particular reason for auto? Looking for an investment or just transport? AU T3.

You don't want a BF series so F6-GT out of the question so I would say a Calais V with the 6 litre would be a nice choice. They are quite a nice car. I don't think it will be too long before you can get an FG G6ET for close to 30k though so it might be worth holding off a few months.

The VE Calais V is a good car, and well equipped too, with the roof mount DVD etc. Some were optioned with satnav and reverse camera too, although costly when new and rare.
The Calais V has a few essential items over the SSV (like mine) which i did not even think to check for ... for example, the SSV has no glovebox light, map reading lights front or back, rear park assist only and the basic trip computer with single screen ! Rant over.

I know you don't want another B series, but if you did this would be perfect...In your price range and in your area too

6.0L Calais are a pretty decent car, the Autos are a bit average, but the L98 with Full on's will go very nicely, Head & Cam Upgrade Packages are fairly affordable on them too.
Beyond that for 30K.. maybe an older WRX Sti? Also Consider the VZII with the 6.0L upgrade as well, will fall into your price bracket more easily and you will be able to find a better condition and better optioned example. On a side note considering you still have the S/C.. I'd be checking out that GT if you change your mind on the B-Series thing.. Last edited by FPV8U; 05-12-2009 at 08:26 AM. |

i have been considering a project car to do over a year or 2 such as an EH with an LS2, or an XB coupe, but the coupe will be too much to buy as a starting point and the EH will be hard to engineer with a V8 i think ill just sit tight for 6-7 months until i get my license back until i find the right car ill love as much as the boss
