Default Happy Easter AFF

Happy Easter to all. Today is about the renewal of life and redemption of man and his sins, sometimes a message lost in the frenzy of chocolate!

If anyone should know about sins, then it's you : The sinner of the used car world. You've had a few. :hihi:

Happy easter all. the sight of chocolate eggs scattered around my house is making me hungry.

Thanks Bucky! Not sure if you mean a few cars, or a few sins, but on both counts you are correct, luckily someone will forgive me for both!

Chocolate eggs scattered around the house is the reason I am up around 3 hours earlier than normal - kids have no concept of a decent hour to get out of bed!

Coincidence - they're my initials, and a nickname I have gone by for over 20 years, but yes, very fitting at this time of year. And at a certain other time of year as well, and then my surname comes in handy as well (something to do with singing Christmas songs).

Was a good day, with time for celebration, and some time for reflection (they though i was asleep on the couch after lunch!!!)

Just a little reminder about the affects of chocolate on dogs. I'm up now tending to my pooch because it helped itself to a decent portion of easter eggs and I'm rather concerned.

Here's a little info I've found helpful - http://uninews.unimelb.edu.au/news/5068/

Quote:
The ingestion of 50gm of dark chocolate per 5kg of a dog’s weight and of 200gm of milk chocolate per 5kg dog weight is in the danger zone. A 10kg dog could be poisoned by consuming just over 50g of dark chocolate or 500g of milk chocolate.
Quote:
Chocolate tends to cause digestive upsets initially, as it is high in sugar and fat. Vomiting and diarrhoea are often the initial symptoms. Six to twelve hours later, the chemicals themselves start acting. They tend to have a diuretic effect, so the pet may urinate more than usual and become thirsty. Pets often become agitated and excitable and start pacing.

More dangerous symptoms can then develop, including an elevated, sometimes irregular heart rate, blood pressure changes and epileptic-type seizures. These signs can last for up to three days if untreated, and can be fatal to the pet, with the heart or breathing giving out, especially with exercise. Any cases of suspected chocolate toxicity should be immediately reported to your vet. Prompt treatment will mean a much better prognosis.
Also, Happy Easter.
