Default xforce VAREX exhaust system

I've seen these exhausts in a few different car mags and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them??

http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/images/lv57ssg.jpg

They're quite obviously designed for street cars (the WRX has NSW number plates) but there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page saying for offroad and race use only. Who would be able to clarify the legality of these things?

I love the idea of being able to open up the exhaust on the windy roads around here but would still like to be able to quieten the system for around town and cruising down the highway.

oh s***!!! I was looking at the varex system for my car but at the same time finding a heart tip for my girlfriend... must have posted the wrong link!!!

Obviously I don't want a heart tip... already have enough issues with people caling the fez a "girly" car.

here's the proper link

I got my standard Xforce Sports Muffler done about 2-3 months ago now, but i totally regret it

I wished i had gone this route,
cause its just too loud for day to day driving, and everybody just looks at you weirdly, cause they hear the sound but look at the car behind u, then realize its u, and a fez with a sports exhaust isn't natural

I say get the Varex Adjustable muffler, but only if they have it in a smaller size than 3", maybe 2.5", cause u don't want to look "fullysick" now do ya ??

Also get the muffler moved back a lil so u don't see the big chrome pipe or get it sprayed black like i did with mine (pic below)

Goodluck Buddy, let us know how u go, i may even do the same if yr comes out nice!!

A workmate has one on a built 1982 RX7, 130db at idle, it got it down to 118 on its silent setting with barely any loss at the rears.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, I was planing on integrating the VAREX unit into a custom system using the muffler with no tip (just a 3" pipe) and having the exhaust guys attach a sly turn down tip just behind the bumper. That way even when I have the system to FULY *** people won't realise its from me
