Default Editing Posts

I'm not sure if this has been covered before, but the ability to edit your own posts would be really handy, especially in the Projects forum.

It's not unusual for people to change their photo hosting or accidentally mess it up, or in my case, I've changed domain names for my blog , so the ability to fix this ourselves would be great!

I love this site BTW!

Maybe you refering to editing at any time, but yo can edit up to 20mins after you post. If not PM a Moderator, Super mod, or even Russellw, as Jason said.

With project builds, people usually just add another post with these updates, or just update your signature, as I see you have one.

The ability to edit or delete your own posts at anytime would be a great feature though.

There is a very good reason why editing capability is restricted to a predetermined period of time (or why you can't delete at will) and that primarily has to do with continuity.

As it is a global setting, we need to ensure that history is a static thing and not changeable oitherwise some threads would be hard to follow after people made subsequent changes or deletions and FS threads would potentially be chaotic.

The current 20 minute period should be enough for fixing of minor errors but beyond that period then you'll have to seek the help of a mod or admin.

Regards
Russ

Good points, Russ.

I have to say though that reading some older threads is impossible due to a lot of posts being deleted by mods and out of a dozen posts, only a couple survive.
