Default injector questions

im going to get my car tuned early next year hopefully so im just upgrading/ replacing things that are worn or clogged.
at 162,xxx Km i dare say my injectors havn't been touched and need to have somethign done to them.

im pretty keen on the thought of putting a turbo on in the next yr or 2 so could i put a bigger injector in now so when its turbo time i dont need to upgrade or should i just get the injector's rebuilt and then worry about the new injectors when turbo time comes.

sorry if this sounds stupid just thinking ahead.

cheers in advance.

A race engine builder is a family friend.
According to him, unless you have specific problem injector related symptoms, don't even consider doing anything until at least 250K. Save your money and do it when you turbo.

Have a read and see what you think, keeping in mind that any of the symptoms may have multiple causes...

I had planned to have mine done as a preventative measure about 20K's ago (it was a bit sluggish). After talking to the above engine guy I replaced leads, plugs and fuel filter and the sluggishness disappeared.

If you're set on doing something with your injectors check on ebay. There used to be new Bosch's for I6 au's for around $50ea.

I've done all the others. I can get them reco for $20-30 a piece out of car. I just want to know if it's worth upgrading to a injector to suit a turbo now or will it ruin things. I have a friend that can get me new stuff at trade.

I'm certainly no expert on this stuff but I'd imagine with bigger injectors you'd need a tune (if you can in fact use them) as well. I can find out tomorrow or someone in here will know... or pm Ratter or one of the other site sponsors.

Cheers herrod MS. I'll get the injectors sent off and reco'd and when it's turbo time I'll put newbies in

However the car is getting tuned. Hence why I'm doing things with the injectors.
