Default First Test: 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKcZaVH_x3E

Dodge has revived the iconic HEMI 392 (6.4L) from the 50's, with 350kW on tap and 637Nm at 2900rpm !!

Should Mustang GT owners be worried?....

I would reckon so ....

4.6 to 60mph and a 13.0 @ 111mph is up there.

Dodge really should have designed a new (smaller) platform but it was most likely cost-cutting that made them use the 300C platform instead.

4260 lbs equals 1936kg, that's around 290kg heavier than the Mustang GT's !!

You must of missed the comparison between the M3 and GT,there was literally nothing in it on the track.

Why compare it to a GT? Too scared of the GT500?

Because a 2011 GT500 would walk all over it...

It's the Challenger that should be worried, a V6 Ecoboost Mustang would make it look silly.

I don't think they should be worried - but if I was in the US and given the choice between which car I'd own. It'd be the Hemi - hands down.

Mustang GT is a standard configuration, an SRT-8 is not. Not really comparable. But if you did compare them, a Mustang would still kill it on the corners at least. They are really two completely different cars.

Its great seeing people going wild about these new muscle cars, but its a shame that our own aussie muscle cars aren't more recognised globally. I mean, the F6 and now the super charged GT and GS series are absolute monsters, and all packaged into a 'family' car.

Just shows how well Australian muscle cars really are.
