Question Onyx Black MkII RS2000

Can any die hard RS2000 fanatics out there give me any information on the Onyx Black MkII RS2000's that were produced for sale in Australia? I had heard a rumour that there were only 4, while a document I read said there were only a 'few' for sale by a dealer in Sydney.

Any information on these cars would be greatly appreciated.

Hey bec5175...Paint colour does not appear on this list, but I think I know where one is hiding (somewhere near you...).
Do you have a paint code, as colour names can be misleading.

http://www.rsmotorsport.com.au/ford_...scortmkii.html
Paint Codes 1/79 onwards
Colour Code Description
B Artic Blue
C Midnight (RS2000 only)
D Mint Glaze
K Monza Red (RS2000 colour)
O Nutmeg
T Wedgewood
X Lemon Lime (RS2000 colour)
Z Burnt Orange (RS2000 colour)
3 Gold Dust
4 Silver Grey
7 Ghost Gum
9 Sno White (RS2000 colour)
Denim Pack Olympic Blue

i owned a 4 door one of these many years ago. They were rare that's for sure, but somehow I found this one in a used car yard for $2990!!! and yes, it was genuine. If you look up the Aust RS Owners Club I'm sure someone on there could give you some concrete build numbers.

Check your paint code - IIRC Onyx Black was EY426.

Sounds like my old car.... onyx black four door. Maybe because you sold it to me???

There was also another two door one locally, same paint code. He thought he had the only one from memory.

I owned a silver RS2000 which was owned by an ex-ford executive. I was told 5 Black cars were produced for sydney executives and 5 silver ones for geelong executives.

Any break down between 2 and 4 door?
Have seen both in onyx black, both had the same paint code.

I saw a black 2 door RS this morning in Adelaide. It appears to be original but clean paint work and it had no stripes.

Not sure with the black cars, but there were (3) 4dr and (2) 2dr Silver cars produced. Mine was a 2dr which is now owed by a friend here in Victoria. The other 2dr was owned by the Blue Gum clothing company that rallied it with some success. I know of a 4dr that was sold a few years ago on carsales. It was in the Northern suburbs, but the new owner was from down my way (SE suburbs) as I saw it outside my local Autobarn.

Thank you whooligan, that is a start. And kind of the information that I was looking for. 5 eh? Thems pretty good odds!

And yeah, justbrett and rag top, this was probably your old one. And to Mr. Caldwell there.. yes, it is very close.. and hiding ;) You should come down for a visit one of these days and check out the growing collection!

Thank you all for that
