Default Where to find an Ex Taxi ?

I currently have a BA wagon and its going to the Ex as part of the financial settlement in our Divorce
(I get to keep the XE sedan and the Galaxie).

I Already do about 350Kms+ per week and
I also have to visit my kids on a fortnightly basis about 350kms away

So I'd like to get a cheap Falcon Wagon (Ex Taxi) with high Kms on it
because I've racked up 20,000Kms on the current car in just
8 months without going anywhere on my weekends !

I would prefer to get a white wagon

because the Yellow on VIC Taxi's is a bit much for me
(I will buy one... if it's the right car for the right price)

Something that's been regularly serviced and may have recently had some major mechanical repairs
(i.e. trans or diff, brakes reconditioned)

I have been looking for a while (we've been seperated for 12months)
and have seen them in the usual advertised places.

Carsales
Carpoint
Trading Post
Ebay etc....

What I'm after is some contacts from any of the
members on here that deal with Taxi's on a regular basis...
People that are closely linked to the industry perhaps ?

I live in VIC but would consider a good deal from NSW or QLD
Any help is deeply appreciated !

Cheers, Sean.

By "ask Jim" he means speak to the Adelaide member T-Pak Addict on here.

He's bought a few ex-taxi's and done them up, and from memory they're all from Victoria, he might be able to help out with where to start looking.

So what, May 2014? Only three more years.
But i will say that in BNE, not too many people have adopted the FG as a taxi. Why would you run an FG when you can run a same age BFIII? Cheaper to buy, more prevalent in egas form, live rear axle, 4-speed auto, compatible parts, known quantity - why would you go FG if you were a taxi operator?

Ask the Melbourne operators that... plenty of FG's floating around Melbourne as taxis..

Yeah, I've spoken with a few people "in the know" about Ex Taxi's
and it's the same story with all of them Darren.

Have to find one thats been well looked after and/or has had recent
major surgery basically.... They are out there...

Is funny how many people have said something to the effect of
"yep, I can help you"
and then you never hear from them again !

especially... the guy who emailed me from his iPhone that he had a car available for $1350 ono

then emailed again an hour or so later from his work desk with
details of the exact same vehicle ... but it now was $1500 ono

Haven't heard from him in 2 days since I pointed that out to him
Good work K
