Red face Mint '78 Cortina

Guys I am thinking of selling my much loved 'Tina. I bought it as a deceased estate off the first owners 60ish yr old son in March 2005. At the time she had clocked 167,000kms from new, it has now done 185,000. The driveline, front to back, has done under 5000kms.

The car is truly in fantastic condition, not a dolled up show car, but a true survivor, the paint is all original bar the R/R qtr and bootlid as the original owner scraped the wheel arch just before he stopped driving. Body is straight with absolutely no rust at all.

The interior is like brand new, dash is perfect, mint original radio, the drivers seat has split but the other seats literally have not been sat in (owner was a widower), and I bought it with the steering lock instructions still on the visor. It has the original books and dealer sticker on the back window.

It was an original 3.3 T-Bar auto, but I have since freshened up the driveline with a 86DA 4.1 block with some work, c4 auto with stall, 3.45 LSD diff. The car makes 124kw at the wheels and that was not on a "happy" dyno. The car is fun to drive. But is very tight. The engine was not a back yard slap together, it was built by a prominent Melbourne drag racer / mechanic.

I have kept all the original bits, engine block, ancilaries, steering wheel, shifter etc.

Basically it looks like a really neat grandpa spec Cortina, with a stout driveline for the street. I have gone to great pains to not lose the originality of the car.

I have since purchased an XR6 Turbo and I just cant keep both and I need the garage space as the XR is on the street. But I want an enthusiast to look after it, because you just dont find them like this anymore and they are only new once.

This car also won best MK 3-5 Cortina at Small Ford Sunday 2009.

If she doesnt attract the right buyer/dollars, she will go into storage. Its killing me writing this.

Rego till June this year.

Im asking $7500 which is well below what it owes me and the price is firm.
