does anyone have any ideas on where i can buy a console ring for the shifter hole. i am making a custom console and do not want the 70's look - rather a look similar to current cars. i want a preferably round/oval ring with a flat base that will sit on the console, so i can attached the leather boot to the inside, and then screw it in from the top. maybe someone makes custom consoles and i can buy something of them. thanx

You could try an engineering shop. My mate made one up for his car out of metal on the lathe, very similar to the BA surrounds but much chunkier. Got it chrome coated, looks a treat.

thanx for the advice - i am checking out some items from "isotta" (imported from italy and sell through autobarn), but otherwise i might have to get something machined. i had planned to use a ba surround but due to the size of the console, the boot has to be screwed in from the top which makes the ba one (and almost all other cars) less of an option
