Hi guys,
We've just decided to upgrade to fuel injection in our off road racer, having a new engine and a basic system now. We've bought an M48 MoTeC ECU to match the fuel injection system. Has anyone ever tuned one of these? Had some issues using Windows 7 64-bit, compatability just wasn't there, but worked around it, hoping this won't cause any issues.

Did a bit of toying with an M48 ECU back in uni (10 years ago) but we were using a Windows 3.1 OS on an ancient PC. Can't remember much now though.

I tune them with some regularity, a number of my regular customers have them. I've been putting off buying a new laptop and even when I do I think I may put XP on it, some software, particularly the some older stuff I have just won't work on 7.

Yes I use MoTec on a weekly basis with the uni racing team, albeit an M800. We haven't tried it on 64 bit but I have major issues with it on 32 bit Win 7 (it used to run but no longer will, regardless or reinstall or what).
You should be able to use the compatibility component of Win 7 64 to run it, from what I understand. |

Yeah, I thought that too, but I got the cheap-skate Home Premium version of it; no XP mode. Managed to get it to work by launching it in a DOS-emulator. Apparently they're a pretty handy unit, the M48, considering we're going to throw it in the dust and dirt

The sidecar I setup (but didn't end up tuning) had more than enough resolution for the map and from reports back run's very smooth. Probably just as good as my detailed tune on the M800. Weairy, If you want I could probably come up and set the ecu up for you and chuck a start tune in there. Cheers Boffin
