ok so its been a long time since n e one has organised a meet up of us AU members i think the last one was over a year and half ago and we ended up at the ford discovery center, thanks to kristo for organising

ok so this is more of an interst then setting anything in plan

so who would be intersted and what date/month would be best for everyone?

I'm interested in another catch up.

Sometime in mid Spring would be nice.

There was one just a few weekends ago.

I'd like to attend one but it's hard for me at the moment as I'm caring for someone. So a few months away if possible. A nice drive, nice weather, a park, a BBQ somewhere or something.

Someone mentioned Hanging Rock a few years ago. I've never been there.

Hanging Rock is a nice place, heaps of room, a good drive and if people want some twisties then you can drive back through Mt Macedon aswell.

Id be interested depending on the date naturally.

Hanging Rock could be a goer, but I'd really like the park that Kristo sorted last year. A top venue indeed.

He had bollards from work and cordoned off the upper car park, which had play equipment nearby and bbqs nice and close.

I'm dead keen to come to one of these, but in the past they've always fallen on dates where I've had work or other commitments I can't get out of...but count me in for sure!

Sadly there's never a day that suits all, but we've found that Sunday works best for most people.

I'm looking at buying another AU, so depending on when it is and whether I get one or not, I might come along to the meet. The AU Falcon meet we had about 5 or 6 years ago was awesome. Love to do it again.

That was a good weekend. And those refreshments were spot on. I'd love to do that again. Just gotta get another AU first. I still have video footage too that I took from that weekend and heaps of pics.

This is one of my favourites from that weekend.

- Hanging rock --- http://www.visitmacedonranges.com/na.../hanging-rock/

i know there is a water fall and Mt macedon close by for people who want to do a little side trips during the day, the cross is in rembernece of the WWII (or 1) its massive i reckon 15 - 20 tall over looking the region awesome views if good weather

hows the last sunday of november (27/11/11)? i figure be the end of spring and start of summer so it should be good waether and its 4 months off so enough time for people to plan/organise if they would like to come or not,

was going to say december but i know most people start doing family things for christmas and new years as well as work break ups etc etc and can be hard.

Whilst Hanging Rock is scenic and a nice drive, will the carpark situation allow us all to get our AU's together?

The place Kristo chose for us last time, had the top carpark which was untouched until he got there with bollards to claim it for us.

I highly doubt we'd be able to have this done at Hanging Rock.

So for me, even though the scenery is important, it's more important that we can all park next to each other, without drawing unwanted attention from park officials etc, etc.

The park in Bundoora would have no such issues.

My 2 cents.

Earlyer date would suit a bit better as we have the AFF christmas cruise on the 11th of December ,not trying to be negative on this but, having been involved in running plenty of cruises over the years the best you can do is just pick a place and date and just do it. Those who can and want to go will make the effort to go when ever it is. you will never please them all as there is always something pops up for some one (my self included) the break down usually works out with a 50% drop out rate. So if your happy with a place and time just post it up and see how the response goes,
