Default WSID 31st Aug

I'll be heading up to WSID next Wednesday, any other Ford powered beasts going/interested in going?

First run on new diff ratio, keen to see what it'll do.

that's half the fun. we're gonna push back the E85 tune maybe just run 18psi that should bring us down from 8.2's to 9.0's. not allowed to go faster than 9.0's on Wednesday street meets.

not sure it would be enough. makes 510rwhp on 10psi. 14psi maybe 580rwhp, needs 650-700rwhp to run 9.0. Pete is bringing the banana out also. could run a 10.7@125 on 9psi.

thanks mate, yeah its definitely something different. the 1UZ are a great motor, we'd love for it to be all Ford but cube wise the 4L 1UZ was the biggest could go.

9.0 rule been around since forever, it's very dangerous to run any quicker even 9.0 is scary, Joe was all over the place a couple runs, on a good prepped track it runs straight as. got a little scared cos first pass it ran a 8.98 i said i stuffed the tune and they less us drop the boost and run again. was on around 18psi to run 9.0. she has a bit of bling bling under the bonnet got a fair few stares and surprises when people seen it driving home.

had a couple mates there, the XB was only running 5psi, had a boost controller stuff up. and another mate in his VZ SS twin turbo V8 (full weight 1900+kg) ran an 11.8@129mph on street tyres not radials proper street tyres. the ANDRA official asked how can u run 130mph on street tyres, he just shrugged its a 6-speed manual and was doing 2.2 60's. the crazy thing is it was only on 10psi, on the PUMP GAS BP98 tune it made 1030rwhp@22psi he got a little worried about the box so he packed it up early. he is going to put it on E85, put more boost in, put an auto and 9''. the thing has enough power to run low 9's now. with E85 and more boost it would probably run mid-high 8's

yeah, 425rwkw@10psi, 560rwkw@15psi and 770rwkw@22psi has 2 GT35/40's with 1.06 backs it just makes the power so easily. the turbo's are good for up to 1050kw @ the engine so that is the target, not bad for a daily street car it will be an absolute weapon when he gets the *** end done and an auto box.

Mate I can do 2.2 60's so once he gets that diff and box and launch setup right he is going to save nearly a second just off his 60 foot time and that will carry forward to more savings for the rest of the track. Damn thats going to be 1 quick XB.

Ill be keen for a Wed night in a couple of weeks let me know when you guys are heading out next and ill make the drive up.

seeing the VZ run last night i was very impressed. had good gear changes also for the first time out.

the XB on 10psi i worked out should just get into the 10's @ 125mph. a 20psi tune will be coming soon. were trying to talk him into maybe doing an E85 tune also but he doesn't want to, he doesn't like the fuel

i think Pete's going out again in the XB next week, we will take the Capri out again the following week. come over and say g'day. Joe in the blown syline gets a lane for himself, so we just jump in with him. it's good for the crowd they get to see 2 low 9-sec cars racing each other. i thought i was on Jersey Shore with all the fist-pumping going on when those 2 race

they should group them in times instead of cylinders. have 9-sec, 10-sec, 11-sec, 12-13-sec and 14+sec lanes. close racing is good racing, more fun for people to watch.

data_mine well done on the PB mate, 3/10ths improvement is a huge gain.

Might take some research on their hands or competitors to nominate a group perhaps. I'd be all for it though. Ive been 5-6 times now the last few months and Wednesday night i had my closest run yet against a purple BA XR6. He beat my time by 0.2 but i had a 0.3s faster reaction and was 4mph faster. Interesting dynamic as we went down the strip.

Would like to see something like that too.

My closest run was a 1 second win in my favour. Worst was over 4 seconds.

My brother got my final run on video, only a mobile phone vid though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMJnV...&feature=share

Ive got a habit of doing rubbish runs all night then getting something somewhat decent for my final run. A few weeks ago i was running 15.1-15.2s all night then pulled out a 14.6 at the end. This week i was doing 15.2-15.4s before i hit a 14.7s. I think its just with how i might be stalling it up, it seems its pointless trying to hold more than about 1800rpm with the stock converter.
