Hi i have been wondering about getting a Gilmer belt drive kit for my 302 my questions are:
Any power gains or losses? Is it just for looks and sounds? Why does it sound like a blower on the car? Are they easy to fit? Any of this info plus more would be great,Cheers |

Yeah just for looks and sound Type of tooth and width of belt running over pully Very easy to fit just need longer bolts or shorter bolts for the water pump. Here is a threa for a cleveland? http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...t=gilmer+drive Last edited by something wrong; 25-10-2011 at 02:10 PM. |

I always thought they sounded more like a dry power steering pump than a supercharger.

Yeah, I'll second that.
And after years of perseverance, worn pulleys, thrown belts and no real performance benefit other than 'having a gilmer set-up' ; I think I might go some style of polyrib set-up. Might have to custom mix & match though. http://marchperf.com/gallery_ford.html#clev
