ive a massive interest in what cars people like v8supercar drivers choose to drive and own for themselves at home. For eg i know mark webber bought a new 911gt3 last year..and insisted paying full price. I imagine people like mark winterbottom in new GT335s and garth tander in ssv wagons and hsvs.if anyone knows the specific models and cars anyone chooses for themself..let us know

Back when Ingall was driving for SBR, he had a brand new BAXR6. No idea what he has now though.

I wonder if Lowndes still owns his Ford Cortina that he was restoring, or if that is now in a museum somewhere? He used to talk about his F250 doing Farm duties all the time. I'd be guessing that he's not spending much time on the farm any more....
Steven Richards was doing up an old Cortina at one point too. Garth actually has an old 1960's Camaro in his shed as I recall, there have been some magazine articles on it. It's been restored, but it's mostly factory condition if I recall. Very sweet ride. Lukeyson

I know when DJR lost the Ford sponsorship, James Courtney jumped straight into a HSV R8 Tourer.

Lowndes was driving a dark coloured twin cab Coloradro ute a few months ago, & I've seen pictures of his Mk1 GT Cortina in a musuem in Sydney/Melbourne somewear. I believe this car was restored by apprentices at TAFE college.

Frosty and Dvison both get car of choice from Ford/FPV. Frosty had a turbo when I spoke to him during a test drive in a GS but said he was getting a new GT. Steven Richards had/has a GT as well. Mark Larkham had a pepper red xa gt coupe some time ago....

I think the article was in Street Machine, after he had finished it. Happily corrected though.

Most of them will drive whatever they DON'T have to pay for. Racing drivers tend to have short arms and long pockets.

Saw an article on Cam Mconville owning a HJ OR HX Monaro. I think Larko has a few GT's.

Most racing drivers get FREE cars from their sponsors (i.e. Ford/Holden/HSV/FPV) and they must drive them as its part of their Contractual commitments …
Most racing drivers get paid a fair bit of money to afford much nicer cars … you will find its usually their wife or other family members who will be the drivers of their personal vehicles |

I remember when Brock showed up as a guest speaker where I used to work and he showed up in a Ford Maverick, he copped a bit of grief about it, he reckons it was his 'farm car' - yeah right!!!
