Default $1200 Twin Piston 330mm Brake Kit

We have now received our order of red pbr C4 calipers and have put together a 330mm brake kit for the AU11 and AU111 vehicles and they will also fit the BA's. 17" wheels minimum are needed but they do fit some 16" wheels.

2 x PBR Red C4 twin piston calipers
1 x set of Street pads
1 x Pair of braided front lines
1 x Pair RDA 330mm Slotted disc rotors
1 x Pair of brackets and bolts
The kit above will cost forum members $1200.

OPTIONS:
With DBA Rotors
DBA do not have any T3 4000 series rotors in stock at the moment so we can't offer the option but we can supply the 4000 XS in the kit for $1400
or
the 5000 XS two piece rotors with red or gold hats for $1600 but for a limited time.

Please confirm availability before ordering thanks.

Hey Matty, silly question possibly but would these fit a VX commodore or are they specifically designed to fit Ford's only?

Only ford but we do have the same style of kit for a VX which i could do for $1350 as the rotors and brackets are different in this kit.

I have just been able to get some DBA4000 rotors in the 6X6 wiper slot design and will be able to now supply 4 brake kits with the 4000 series slotted rotors for
$1200
Get in for a great bargain.

Just recieved my upgrade kit yesterday. Here are some pics of it. There is obviously another rotor and caliper, I just didn't unpack them.

If the C4s fit under 16" rims ... it's going to be a slimmer caliper me thinks.
The C5's were an option on some XR8s ... and they needed the 18" option wheel with that brake package.

Although there was some mention of them fitting under "certain" XR6 rims (May have been BAII) though.

The C4's have smaller pistons and a slimmer body with a good taper at the front which comes in handy for clearing smaller diameter wheels and they don't have caliper slides and take a 28mm disc and will need a bracket to adapt to the car.
The Ford C5 has larger pistons and has a larger body and uses caliper slides in the design plus it takes a 32mm thick disc and the Ford C5 will bolt directly to the BA without the need of brackets.
The C4's were generally fitted to the AU series and the C5's were fitted to BA's. There are different versions of both calipers that fit Holden,Toyota and Chevs.

I have only one kit left with the DBA4000 Slotted discs at $1200 and then we will be using a RDA disc at the same price of $1200. If requiring the new T3 DBA disc the kit will be dearer.

I have put the kit of my car and I have got a spongy brake pedal now. Is this something others have found?

I have bled the brakes twice, front and rear and still spongy.

Any ideas would be great.

Matt,

Finally got around to fixing my brakes today. I cannot explain the sheer braking force now that I have now.

Just a question going forward. What would replacement rotors and pads be? Even if it is equivalent to another cars brake pad rotor combination.

The pads are DB1353 and can be purchased from about $40 to $350 and the rotors are Mustang but may need the centre hole machined out a fraction.

Hi Matt,

Would your 'dog-bone' brackets fit like the OEM ford brackets for the AU2 tickford option with the C4 "tickford winged" caliper. The caliper looks identical - just no tickford wing

I think we used a different rotor in our kit at the time so the bracket would be different with the offset.
