Hey guys, just wondering if we could compile a list of who manufacture adjustable coil overs for AU XR8 sedans with IRS, I have been looking, peddlers don't do IRS cars, all the rest of my enquiries have rolled a donut....
Don't these people want to sell things these days?!? |

Not a bad price at all for the pack, only thing that worries me is the 'IRS equipped sedan/wagon/ute' bit, only one of them ever came with IRS :/

Was just about to start a new thread on this but did a search first.
Anyways, I am ready for new suspension and at a fork in the road, the only 2 coilovers I have found for AU IRS are the D2's and KSPORT. So the fork in the road for me is do I get one of these lesser brands in a coilover I really want coilovers, but because they are a leeser known brand its putting me off a bit. Or do I go Koni yellows with some Lovells or King S/L ?????? Having stated thae coilover I mensioned are lesser known I know a bloke who uses the D2's for his drift racing and is happy with them, please if you got any feed back on the KSOPRTS or D2's for the Falcon IRS please leat us know, love to hear about it.

FTe217 or Maurice he's a bit pof the guru in this area. Hopefully he'll pop up on here. I know he's got coil overs but not mass produced. No more will be made through who he got them from. seems really happy with them.

FTe217 is a GURU!!!!! BA fronts will fit AU 2/3 so you can get B series front coilovers and then go an adjustable shock in the rear.
its an option im looking at. i've never herd of those D2 coil overs. |

yeh i looked into the d2 coilovers last year. Could not get a definite answer on them after calling the makers of the product. Saying that they have never fit them to an AU but its ok on our VY.....
I couldnt get an answer if the rears would actually fit AU IRS and for replacement parts if something was to go in the kit. They just led me around on circles really so i said stuff it and just got the pedders front coilovers and will look into getting a set of coil overs using pedders gear made up by a suspension place. Pedders "reckon" there making one for the AU, however i dont think so as there just isnt the demand for them to be made. BA/BF front coilovers fit the fronts of AU's, rears dont. |

Would be interesting to see the difference between the BA and AU IRS setups, and if a complete BA setup can be transplanted in.

Ok so I decided to try the KSPORTS out. The fronts will be
no worries as the arw the same as BA/F but the rears have to be modified which is being done and if there is a demand for the the will put into production, let you's know how I goes

Oh crap, sorry, I forgot all about this. So the coilovers have been in for well over a month
now and they are fine. As I think I have mensioned the front are the same as BA/BF but the rears had to be modified to suit the AU's IRS. I gor them fitted but I was told they went in without a hitch, besides the rear tubing had to be cut down 20mm as they were too long. They were custom made over at KSport Sydney and had them fitted by the KSport distributor here in Perth and because the rears were cut down further they sais a heavier coil would'nt of hurt even though they're fine the way they are. Bottom line is for the price ($1795) for a full set of coilovers that are hieght adjustable and are able to adjust the dampening I 'm happy.

I'm happy with the way the wheels sit in the arch however the chassi is too far from the road
IMO but I think thats because of the 20's which is a mystery to me and my friend as it should be the same rollining diametre, however when my mate replaced his 20's with some 17's on his XR6T the car sat mint, really low just by going from 20's to 17's. I'm tempted to adjust mine lower but even though all 4 corners have been rolled it does rubb when theres "waves"in road or when cornering around sweeping bends at cruzing speed if there are bumps in the road, so I think I'll leave it as it is.

Really looks the goods there Wayne.............I think you have the best of both worlds, wheels fill the arch nice and not too low for unwanted attention from the boys in blue.
Hows that blower treating you?
