hi all , just looking at upgrading my intake on my xr8 but wanting to keep the standard air box , has anyone used the ss induction 3 piece snorkel kit? is it worth the upgrade, do you notice the performance upgrade?

I personally wouldnt spend $300. i would get some 3" piping and build a CAI pipe, from TB into the stock box and cut a hole in the front of your box for extra air.
Or buy an aftermarket box, get the 3" CAI pipe and direct the pipe into the box with a pod on the end of it. both less than $300 and more effective check out this thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...98#post4198398

No, not worth it, but looks good, and sound increase (if you like that sort of thing) is good too.

I reckon if you got one for the right price (maybe $100-150) then yeah give it a go, if not there are better options for the price.
