Ignition system? Coil packs etc?

Or is it being immobilised for some reason by the ECU?

Is the engine turning over? What if you bridge out the starter? Or give the starter a good wack with your hammer handle?

if its not turning over check your body control module (bcm), do a search on bcm related problems you might find something & go over all the relays under the bonnet.

cheers,Maka

i thought about that but after it started a few times like normal and ran normal really got me puzzled although every time its cranked and ran it was when the battery was 1st reconected to the car we thought maybe a earth issue so ran another earth but alas no fix

Checked alternator output? Should be 13.5-14v, too high and it can cause all sorts of problems.

normally the problem with a series one is not stopping
sorry had to say it.
I'd be checking to see if the immobiliser is kicking in if it cranks by bridging the starter but still won't start sounds like it is immobilised
