I heard that GMH could be in negoiations with Rare Spares over the purchase of thousand's of NOS parts stored in warehouses in Vic. Apparently Ford Aust. would rather dump their parts than sell them? I'm unsure if any of this could be true, so just putting it out there if anyone can confirm or deny.
I & I'm sure many of you would love to get your hands of NOS Ford stuff. I think it's a great waste it this stuff was dumped. If it has something to do with being witten off & therefore must be dispossed of ie. not for sale, then why not give it to Lifeline or some other charity to sell & make some easy $$? Any one? |

Sounds like a good idea to give it away to charity who then on sell it to Rarespares or whoever, maybe you should let Ford know about that idea!

Before Ebay and the like, dealers would dump heaps of stuff after the yearly stocktake.

Rare Spares have signed a deal with Holden to buy up all their old parts blueprints and start making a lot of the old Holden parts.
I beleive they are also talking to Ford about doing the same things with their parts as well. |

Yes i'm aware of many cases in the past where this stuff has been dumped by some manufacturers.
BossXR8 - that fits pretty much what I heard, except that Ford declined & was going to dump instead. |

XB Coupes would probably outsell FGs, so ford probably wouldn't like it.

Pretty disappointing when you consider most XC guys would give their left testy for a new grille.

Yes AC I had to pay a small fortune for an XC GS second hand grill - to then have to pay extra for the standard repairs.

Repro bodies could never be registered here anyway, so making them for the odd person who wants to use them for racing wouldnt be profitable.

Not quite the same
but back in the eighties I used to deliver parts to Ford and Nissan anyway in Clayton near the Nissan plant was a mattress factory where I saw about 50 mattresses in skips still in the plastic so I asked if I could buy one and was told it was not worth my job to sell you one so I enquired further anyway the gist is all the rejects were covered by insurance and must be destroyed and cant even be given to Lifeline or Salvos just a complete waste much like the Ford bits |
