Hi all,
Just curious, as I'm sure many other people are on this forum, how does my fuel usage stack up against other Ford owners. My suggestion is to have a format as below, detailing a bit about our fuel economy figures ie Model: 06 BF Falcon XR6 Fuel Type: BP Ultimate 98 Type of Driving: I live in Newcastle so mostly city/urban. Soft/hard driving: Definately soft Economy: 11.00L/100 km Please add your suggestions as you see fit.

Fuel Type: BP Ultimate 98 Type of Driving: All highway at the moment with minimal urban - racking up k's quickly!. Soft/hard driving: Moderate - on ramps are fun. Economy: 9.5L/100 km Best economy i ever got was 8.2 (again highway) and thats when i had my full exhaust system with hurricane headers, no resonators and very high flow mufflers.

Fuel: BP 95 Type of driving: mixed hard city/relaxed highway Soft/Hard: as above, hard in the city (Sydney traffic/school runs), soft on the highway 9.5L/100km's average around town, 7.8L/100km's on the highway.

Model: 2007 bf2 egas wagon
fuel: lpg only type of driving: long distance highway cruising Drive style: a to b quickly. Drive with economy in mind but not **** about it. Economy: when cruising easy 90kmh abt 9l/100k. 100k abt 10lph. 110k abt 11 lph and 120k abt 12lph. Doesnt get much easier than that. City and suburban vary greatly. Can be as high as 18lph in my local hilly suburb, short trips. Can be as low as 13 running across town etc. |

Car: 2010 XR6
Fuel: Up until recently Vortex 98 but now BP Ultimate. Type of driving: Rural with a little in town (and the occasional hop over to Newcastle). Style: Unpredictable. Some days I treat it like a baby and other days I drive it like I stole it. Economy: According to the computer consistent 11's. Interestingly when I owned a BA XT I was getting reliable 10.8 for the same driving. The big difference in the FG seems to be in town where I get 12's as opposed to high 14's in the BA. |
