Casey Stoner, who will he drive for???

I am so going to miss watching Casey, yes he's a bit of a grump and not very personable but it takes all sorts to make the world go round.

Me, I like him, no nonsense type of bloke, take him or leave him.

Now my predicament is who will he drive for, Holden or Ford.

It's looking good for Holden so far, but boy I hope Ford wins him over because I'd love to be able to cheer him on in a Ford.

With Nissan thrown in the mix next year and Casey driving it might be worth watching the touring cars again. Bring it on I say.

though, sbr is a long shot given that according to auto action, neither Van Gisbergen or Holdsworth are happy with the change to Merc's and are looking for drives elsewhere.

i think it would be foolish for whichever team picks him up to dumb him into the main game straight away.

im guessing he'll go to 888 and spend a year in the development series driving scott pye's current car. then if he proves himself move up to the main game. i cant see 888 giving up whincup, as he must be the golden child in that team. when is lowndesy's contract up? otherwise they could potentially go to a 3-4 car team.

If that were true, it would start in 2014 at the earliest. It has been well discussed, even Stoner himself hasn't said he will be racing next year.

Not sure, my mate at Red Bull is pretty well connected but he didn't know. All he knew was that RB had some sort of sponsorship deal with Stoner for the 888 team. Red Bull was worried about losing Stoner to another companies sponsorship offer which may not have been V8SC related.

He has been told if he wishes to race the V8's, he'll need to drive in the dev series first...


And he has came out saying that next year is his year off...spending time with his family on his farm...or his Swiz hide-away...

the guy will be buried mid pack and that is where he will stay. He may have a flash of brilliance in qualifying occasionally, as they all do, but he wont see the podium. He will unfortunately suck oxygen and the limelight from stories and interviews about the guys who have given everything to be on the grid - and that is just the DVS.

Wouldnt be surprised to see him race in the development series next year (remember its only 6 or 7 rounds)
2014 in the main game with 888, if both Lowndes or Whincup stay, Dane will buy another REC or get a deal like FPR have with Rod nash.
Either Paul Morris or Lucus Dumbrell would bring their cars to the 888 stable
