I am so going to miss watching Casey, yes he's a bit of a grump and not very personable but it takes all sorts to make the world go round.
Me, I like him, no nonsense type of bloke, take him or leave him. Now my predicament is who will he drive for, Holden or Ford. It's looking good for Holden so far, but boy I hope Ford wins him over because I'd love to be able to cheer him on in a Ford. With Nissan thrown in the mix next year and Casey driving it might be worth watching the touring cars again. Bring it on I say.

I heard on the ABC cricket commentary today by Will Hagen (sorry, forgot his name but he does the Motorsport for ABC Radio) that there is a rumour that he bettered Lowndsy's times! But, he was on new tires and Lowndsy was on an old set......

I vote that he will have a year off...and live overseas...and if he does anything, it will be a international series.
So yes, gone fishing. No Stoner in the V8's next year.

probs be 888, as hes been hanging around there like a bad smell.
though, sbr is a long shot given that according to auto action, neither Van Gisbergen or Holdsworth are happy with the change to Merc's and are looking for drives elsewhere. i think it would be foolish for whichever team picks him up to dumb him into the main game straight away. im guessing he'll go to 888 and spend a year in the development series driving scott pye's current car. then if he proves himself move up to the main game. i cant see 888 giving up whincup, as he must be the golden child in that team. when is lowndesy's contract up? otherwise they could potentially go to a 3-4 car team. |

Who really cares who he drives for ? As long as he enjoys it, don't hurt no one that is all that matters. Good luck with it Casey hopefully you can make a go of it

Wait wait wait.
There's going to be a stoner driving in the V8s? How many bongs is said stoner gonna have before each race? This could make things interesting. "Chill man, just pass me if you wanna, why don't these race cars have ashtrays and lighters man, and why can't I smoke a joint through my helmet".

When I first heard about Stoner, I thought he had a funny name. Reminds me of certain people.

He's racing for 888. Red Bull threw him a lot of money to race for them.

888 racing, Lowndes will get the punt and go to SBR Mercedes.
Stoner will also earn the moniker of "Pinball Stoner" for all the carnage he'll be involved in. My tip for financial success in 2013; buy lots of shares in 888 racing paint and panel.

Who cares, he's a douche. He'll fit in well with all the other douchebags at 888.
Whingecup, Roland Douche and Moaner at the same team. Block your ears. |

And he has came out saying that next year is his year off...spending time with his family on his farm...or his Swiz hide-away... so it may be 2015 before he gets to drive full time...

the guy will be buried mid pack and that is where he will stay. He may have a flash of brilliance in qualifying occasionally, as they all do, but he wont see the podium. He will unfortunately suck oxygen and the limelight from stories and interviews about the guys who have given everything to be on the grid - and that is just the DVS.

If Wayne Gardiner is anything to go by, Stoner should stay out of race cars!

Wouldnt be surprised to see him race in the development series next year (remember its only 6 or 7 rounds)
2014 in the main game with 888, if both Lowndes or Whincup stay, Dane will buy another REC or get a deal like FPR have with Rod nash. Either Paul Morris or Lucus Dumbrell would bring their cars to the 888 stable Just my opinion

Troy Bayliss is another motorcyclist who has given V8 Supercars a go. He crashed out at Bathurst from a passing shower if I remember right. Can't find what I'm looking for on YouTube
