Default You know you're a car guy when....

Hey all,

Thought I would start a new thread for Sunday afternoon, just realised after I dropped off a friend this morning she had no idea why I loved my car so much and I couldn't for the life of me explain any simpler how my car works as she just wasn't that much into it.. Anyway this thread is about activities, decisions or anything to do with your lifestyle, that is only unique to car guys! so..

You know you're a car guy when...

- I made a decision on where to move a month ago based on how big the garage was as my first priority.

- I can't stand to drive something so boring like a Corolla or Kia.

- I can't have someone compliment me on my car without spilling my guts about how much work I have done to it.

- I can't have a desk at my work without having a photo of my car up next to me.

Enjoy!

When I travel to another country, I take as many pictures of the different types of cars they have (including police cars and taxis) as I do of everything else.

Score a rare race intake manifold for cheap then build a whole car around it

When building the shed your wife asks is it big enough as a question rather than a sarcastic statement

You know your and OLD car guy when ..
.. You always talk about engines in cubic inches, horsepower and lb-ft ..
.. You think anything built after about 1978 is a modern car ..
.. You think 23mpg fuel economy is good ..
.. You think DOHC is only found in motorbikes ..
.. You think EFI, ABS, ESC, is witchcraft ..
.. You think pillarless coupes and sedans should be driven with all the windows down regardless of the weather (convertibles should be driven with the top and windows down!)
.. You think Bluetooth, iPod integration, self-parking, radar cruise, etc are just an annoying fad which will hopefully go away ..

That awkward moment when your 5 year old daughter tells Mummy that the drive to the shops is more fun when Mum is not in the car.

When you kid only refers to your car as "The Broom Car" because its heard coming up the street.

My daughter only knows my XC as the broom car. She doesnt even acknowledge the others.
