Hey,
So i've got a set of compressed springs in the rear of my AU and the ride is just extremely bouncy. Its unbearable for passengers. I know its bump stops but I'm starting to think my shockers arn't really that short, as the place I bought them from seemed dodge. They are apparently KYB Shortened shocks. IS there anything I can do to make the ride slightly better? Cheers, Alex. |

With how low your car is, I wouldn't be surprised if its the shocks. Probably slowly leaking from being on near no travel most of their life.

I know but, they just have sucked from the beginning. Even with my old springs which were about 10mm higher then the ones I have now. They sucked then and they suck now. There must be something I can do to make the ride better... ?

won't ride better with airbags.
get some *GOOD* shocks in the rear. adjustable koni's or something, will be firm, but should get rid of the bounce.

Will ride better with air bags when he raises it a bit to drive around, then drops it when he parks

Had that happen to me the other day, is your AU IRS? is the rear bouncy instead of the front? My rear upper shock mounts had eaten themselves and I had the same problem and after researching a lot of people had the same problem. Check behind the back seats where the shock mounts are bolted.
There is a member here (forgot his name) who modifies upper shock mounts that means you don't have to replace them. But yeah check your shock mounts first!

Non-IRS man. Its quite low but I really need to fix the ride somehow. Koni adjustables may do the trick? The ride has got to improve somehow!

Was it always bouncy? was there something that was changed recently that caused the ride to be extra bouncy?
I have Koni adjustable yellows in mine and they sure do the trick. Sticks to the road

There's always a trade-off when you go that low.
I'm not even sure koni's will fix it. I've seen people make custom upper shock mounts that are taller to get the shock operating in a better range. I'm surprised you're not having issues with your tail-shaft at that height. |

Another fella who saw my suspension told me to get a larger shock hat for more travel. I've been thinking about doing something like this! Or an IRS conversion possibly.

yeah bags are pretty good, gotem on my old ls400, fully independent adjustable height control of front and rear axle height

I want bags but the price is just insane for the rears :( Can't justify that much. I need to see if I can organise something to fix it!
