Default Scum

Leaving work tonight, get to my ute and find glass on the drivers seat... from broken passenger side window :(

How hard is it to fit another window?
Worth doing myself?

Maggots,I'm a big believer of the " ten minutes with a baseball bat reform program" I'm a shiftworker as well,we have had our cars broken into numerous times mainly when left on the street. But the scum have even done a few cars on our work property. Even caught one sneaking into our workshop one night looking for a screwdriver!. As a result we keep a real close eye on our cars now. Drug f###ed oxygen thieves are what they are.

Spot on with that description mate!
I was stupid enough to leave my wallet in the center console & first thing I notice is an SMS from ANZfraud notifying me of my credit card cancellation!
Thinking somewhere someone has my cards details from shopping online, but no. Go out to my ute 20 mins later to find out it's stolen.

They got a pair of FOX sunglasses, a TOMTOM GPS, CD wallet with maybe 30 discs and my wallet. All of which was out of sight. Windscreen was clean with no evidence of suction cup from GPS either.

5 transactions showed up on my card between 10:00pm & 10:20pm last night not far from work in Richmond (Melb).

Report it to the police is pretty much all you can do unfortunately. They often get away with it unless they're caught in the act.

It's a sad fact of life.

My catalogue so far of incidents I could do SFA about:
- Keyed all panels except roof in a secure car park
- Badly dented door panel (caused by terrible u-turn attempt?)
- Scratched & broken motorbike that was knocked over (and then stood up again)

... and probably more to come.

Sorry to hear about this, they are definitely scumbags but unfortunately there is an all important lesson to be had here. DO NOT leave valuables of any description in the car when unattended and especially in view of any passing scum who are likely to be looking for it Don't even leave small change in the ashtray or centre console because some of these scumbags have killed people for less :( As others have said report it to the police, it's possibe your car wasn't the only one broken into and they may even be able to get fingerprints and nail the bastard/s that did it

As far as fixing the broken window, I'm sure there's someone on the Forums who could help you out with fixing it or even give you a DIY lesson in how to replace it

It sucks.

Some moron recently stole my valve dustcaps.
Yes, they're only bloody dust caps but they were mine, I chose a nice machined chrome set I liked and I BOUGHT them and someone else decides they will take them.

Seriously ***** me that someone walked around my car and helped themselves.

How about you go and buy your own ****, ferals!

The alloy valve caps on my Celica and also our Triton are from the discount warehouse place...$2 for a set. Jesus christ you little scumbags...just go and buy a set.

It's always a giveaway that it's kids when only two are missing...obviously for their pushbike.

Luckily I live in a town where you can leave your car unlocked with the keys in it sitting in your driveway for days and nothing happens.

some shady characters around, a couple of months ago dude was casually walking out from the bottom end of my driveway, he must have heard the front door go because by the time i got out the front he was scooting down the road in a white toyota of some description, too far away for an id,
did`nt seem to be anything taken, in our place we have about 6 six cars, we have since put in a camera that aims down the drive , if any movement is detected it sends an email to our phones, it`s a bit of a pain in the kyber to get the sensitivity right , as too much will have it taking shots when a bee farts, too little and an elephant could dance on the cars and it wont get a pic, but its better than nothing, good if you can park under a camera, some deterant value i think .
good luck getting your car fixed.

Take this a strong warning - the AFF makes it clear about Avoidance of the Swear Filter. We know you are upset and many of us have been in this position - perhaps worse.
You have had advice how to fix and I suggest you do this. Thread is now Closed before I have to start issuing Warnings for Avoidance of the Swear Filter and crazy talk.
Vigilanty behaviour is also not to be suggested.
