Hey guys,
Ok ill start, about 4 months ago I was looking for a certain type of vehicle to restore and there were a couple on the market but there was one in Perth which was perfect since it basically had no rust while others were more rust than car. I tossed and turned for days and decided I was not willing to spend money on a flight to inspect then more money to transport it. So I decided to put the dream on the back burner for awhile. About 3 weeks ago mates asked if I was interested in going to Perth to watch Essendon destroy the Eagles in round 14 (who wouldn't?) so I jump aboard. A couple of days ago I remember about this rolling chassis/project in Perth and checked if it still was for sale and apparently it is. I'm a little excited now since I am going to inspect it as it's the only old car I want but I'm struggling to find a way to transport it at a reasonable price because companies don't transport or charge a fortune with spares and not running ect I got one only quote and it came back at $1800 which I think is insane. I have about 10 days till I fly out and been ringing companies like crazy and getting no where, are there any locals in Perth that do vehicle transporting interstate that I wouldn't know or someone who maybe people could recommend? I was thinking of maybe try and hire a flat bed with a small enclosed trailer to tow behind it for parts (is there a place in Perth that does this?) and I would drive way back and bail out on the return flight. If someone has a solution/answer I would be grateful as I don't have much time left before I fly across and see the bombers win Cheers |

For starters, you are going to have a miserable trip to Perth, bomber scum.
It SHOULD be cheap to transport back the other way, as most car transports are coming INTO WA, but it sounds like there are a LOT of parts not on the car? That would be a problem. One-way truck hire is possible with the larger companies, but availability is limited and it’s expensive. Then you would need a forklift to load and unload, and the fuel will cost you a mint. One-way trailers are much more common. If you drove across, you could hire a car trailer to take the shell back. Of course you need a tow car, and if its petrol the fuel bill will kill you. You also need to be careful of the WA border quarantine. If they see any Essenscum gear they will confiscate it. https://www.trailerrentals.com.au/ Are one mob, but there are others. Getting back to the transport option, have a look on Gumtree, there are guys that advertise when they have load space spare.

Haha I'll take my scarf off when we win as I don't want to cause any trouble
Thanks for the reply, well when I used the search function in FF earlier today that seemed to be the gist of things its a lot cheaper to take cars out of WA and I was gaining a smerk from reading that, that smerk quickly faded when I got my first quote back . . . Yeh I thought about stealing the old mans PX ranger but It works out to be about $900 in fuel roughly $450 each way, so that's unlikely to happen. Personally I don't think there is a lot of extra parts that the car comes with, it comes with basically everything that you need to complete it the parts are just not fitted onto the car. I guess Ill show what I want to get and people can assess the "parts" .This is the beast I so truly want http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sorre...op-/1010793745 Have plans lined up for it just no car lol And excuse me !!! I prefer the name Essendope or Asadadon thank you very much :-) |

My daughters shipped their cars to Melbourne (Pulsar & Focus) and it was around $700 each. I will find out who they used.
Have you tried looking on U-Ship? There’s not much movement on the Aussie site, but you will get a couple of quotes. Another idea, just putting it out there if you had the time, look for somebody that wants a car shipped to Perth. Grab your Dad’s Ranger and a trailer and do a round trip. There’s probably a few guys (myself included) who have looked at project cars in Victoria only to be turned off by the high cost of transport to Perth. That, and look on Uship.

cheap, but not otherwise recommended, probably fine for a car that is already dented

Because of the spare parts take the $1800. Cheapest and easiest way.
Other option. Find a cheaper car in your home state. What you save, use on the resto. |

If you do come over let me know and I can take you to a guy that has a yard full of Combies out the back of his shop and you may pick up some good spares etc.
I'll have a closer look when I go past next as he may even have one of these. |

Im totally keeping an eye on the one in Melbourne, since I am heading out west Ill view the perth one and it has been for sale for 5 months so I could be able to squeeze the price down abit. |
