Howdy all,
I am a mobile application developer. I am currently working on an application called Damn my car is too low in my spare time. Basically this application is a navigation app that alerts the user of roads with pot holes, speed bumps, dirt, gravel etc. This will all be croud sourced and rely on users entering bad roads when they encounter them. I have already got this underway. Any constructive criticism and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. P.s this will be a free app, currently looking at android but if it takes off an iOS version will be made. |

Good idea, keep it up...
My stock ba xr scrapes the front bar or muffler tip over some speed humps. Some speed bumps/drains are ridiculously sized... Not everyone has a 4x4... |

HAHA, that should go well with the "Damn my pants are too low" crowd.
Will the app be able to simply slap some sense into the user to get the car sitting at a normal level..... or give directions to the nearest suspension shop? Just kidding.... |

" roads with pot holes, speed bumps...."
your app will go into meltdown. Would be easier to list the roads free of all that. Look, here's the list below: . See, done. :-) Good luck though. Was only last week I made comment that the state of certain roads (main and sidestreets) are now beyond bad. One particular main road I use, I am forever weaving and dodging all the holes, repairs, plates.... its that or be thrown into the other lane likely with a blown tyre and damaged rim. |

Sounds like an awesome app. Would it be possible to add roads with road works as well? If not I reckon I'd still be happy with it.

Yeah I could look at adding road works. It would require and estimated date range as well on user submission, but that isn't really much more effort.

Just list Orange NSW as a no-go zone. Third world roads as a description would be an insult to third world countries.

I think you should skip doing it for Android and ios. Start with WP8 first. That way, I will be able to use it. ios is a dying breed and wp8 is slowly rising. It does make sense to start with android considering the market share of phones though.

Ensure that the roads authorities or minister have instant emails every time someone enters an issue, or even better, have someone follow them around all day like a p.a for example and every time the emails of issues arrive they cop a slap on the back of their imbecilic heads! Keep up the great work, the bris roads are great, been to melb? Its being fixed for our trams.....

I scrape on my driveway and many car park speed bumps if I'm not careful. No way I would ever lower a car I own, and it's no wonder Softroaders are so popular. I have had 2 stock height sedans that scrape everywhere. |
