The F-truck reminds me of the old saying about cars that have, to be kind, "a great personality"...

I actually think that looks worse.
Not keen on the split headlight thing either.

as long as the price of the F truck isnt over $100k , as you can buy a F350 in the US for just over $50k and a F150 for like $25k on road ..we get so stung

I really like the style of this new mustang, the C pillar & rear side glass are very similar to that of the Aston martin DB9. looks like it has a lower roof & a more sloping front & rear screens than the previous model.

Mustang looking good.
F150, hmmm not so much, front too over styled, I am sure it is a very capable vehicle though. Engineering effort has been stellar. In terms of looks, sorry Dodge Ram is a better looker for me, if only we could have the engineering from the F series in the body of the RAM.

Mustang is ok, but it looks a soft compared to the previous model, almost reminds me of an 86 in places Edit: borderline poofy. ......... reserve judgment till seeing one in the flesh.

Australians are used to paying reasonable prices for quality large utes. Ones that are built properly too. A guy at work has a lower-range F250 (only one he could afford, for about $60,000 at the time) which is a few years old now, and it's pretty ordinary inside. Now if they could sell them here for close to what they pay in the USA, people would overlook a few rough edges. Maybe. We heard radio adverts in Vegas for the Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi twin cab for $26,000, less with special offers. I told a dealer guy we had a brief chat to that in Australia they sell for nearly a hundred grand or more new, and he honestly laughed...loudly. They're just a cheap knock-about truck over there, an optioned up prestige vehicle here. I'm really interested in how they'll sell the Mustang. I would like it to be the full range, from base model right up to top of the line ones...but I have a nasty feeling that it'll only be a limited availability prestige vehicle, only top of the line ones brought in, for ludicrous prices. There is a certain percentage of people here of course who want it this way...they want the exclusivity, rather than it being, as the Mustang is in the USA, "just a car" that anyone can buy. We saw families at supermarkets over there unloading the kids out of base model Mustangs which were obviously just family cars. And that's how it should be here...but I have a suspicion it won't happen. The smug and overbearing "look at me I have a Mustang and you can't afford one you pleb" mob will get their way and we won't see them in big numbers because they want the feeling of driving an "exclusive" car...unfortunately. |

I like it, but not to keen on the pea shooters out the back or the interior (knit picking). Makes the current Mustang look very dated imo.
Personally, I can't wait to get the top of the line model so I can look smug and laugh at those that cannot afford one! Hopefully not to many can pony up and get one!

If they do that it'll be yet another short-lived model with Ford marketing scratching thier heads wondering why they're not selling enough volume to justify bringing it in...volume sales is the way to keep prices reasonable and justify the expense of the RHD engineering...so everyone should have a chance to buy one, even a base model V6 without all the fruit as a normal family car with that amazing look.
I honestly think it's only in countries that haven't had the Mustang as an ordinary production model in the lineup that they're seen as "exclusive" and "special"...in the USA they're as common as belly buttons, every man and his dog has one. But in countries where they haven't been available new, as with the trucks, people somehow see them as "special vehicles" when in thier home market they're just another car. The base model V6 starts at only $22,500 or so over there...if they could manage to bring them in somewhere in the early forties (never happen, but it's nice to dream), they'd sell more than they could manage. The only "problem" is that the more expensive V8 ones would be sold in fairly low numbers (face it...sadly V8's just aren't that popular with the car buying public any more) because people would just want that body shape sitting in thier driveway, as a lot of Yanks seem to do. |

Sigh, 2015 will be a hard year. Trip to the USA, or an FH, or wait a bit longer for a Mustang. Can only do one... :(
