Default 2015 Dodge Challenger Refresh

Quote:
It was the Ford Mustang that kicked off the retro-styled muscle car renaissance back in 2005, but it was the Dodge Challenger that served as the movement's poster child, with its unabashedly retro looks. Over the years, though, as the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro were freshened and upgraded, the look of the big Dodge has remained largely consistent since its 2008 debut. For 2015, the Challenger has received a big freshening, boasting strongly revised front and rear ends and (finally, finally, finally) a redesigned interior.

Let's talk about that new cabin first. It's basically been plucked directly from the redesigned Charger, and boasts the same seven-inch IP display. The center stack's miserable, last-gen display has been replaced by an expansive, 8.4-inch UConnect system. Material quality should see a solid boost with the new cabin, as well.

The exterior, meanwhile, sees a revised front fascia with LED halo lights, as well as new grille inserts. A functional shaker hood scoop is a must-have extra on the V8 models, while the back of the car is highlighted by a new set of LED taillights that don't use the "Racetrack" design of Dodge's other models.

In terms of output, the 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and 6.4-liter SRT-spec V8 are carryovers from 2014. An eight-speed auto can now be had with all three engines, while a six-speed manual is also available on the V8 Challengers.

It looks good, that shaker looks out of place, ruins the clean lines.

The shaker's got shaker written on it so you can tell that it's a shaker?

Nice looking car though, man I'd love one of those in my garage.

What happens if they ever sell it here with the name as Challenger is used here by Mitsubishi?

Wonder if Chrysler Aus are still evaluating these and the Charger Sedan for the australian market, I quite like the but true to its muscle car roots apparently besides impressive straight line potential they aren't the best of the "retro muscle" to drive, still a well performing 6.4L V8 is hard to argue against.

They look good, but they're overweight and it doesn't seem like Chrysler have a plan to match the new Mustang and Alpha platform Camaro.

Easily the best looking of the yankee trio, bit of a overweight barge though. Great car in straight line, doesnt hold a candle to a stang in any terrain that involves hills or corners. Would have one over a camaro everyday of the week.

Love that colour.

Absolutely looove the look of this car but, and i might be shot for saying this, I'd want a smaller all alloy V8 in this thing. As much as i like big V8's, 6.4 of merica iron is to much in my opinion it's not helping the weight issue with this car and it will hurt the hip-pocket at the fuel pump. Give us a sub 5litre HEMI i say but i can't see that happening.

Talking to a local Chrysler office jockey. The Charger is 90% on its way but will more than likely have the 300C instrument cluster. It is seen as an easier way than remoulding the current Charger dash and instrument cluster to suit RHD application, but maybe with update could have correct cluster and dash.

Chrysler in negotiation to supply two Australian Police Services to supply V8 Chargers to replace Falcon and Commodore and possibly prior to 2017.

Challenger is a long shot, even though Chrysler Australia wants it as a Hero car, some hurdles to cross include: 1. Name as someone stated previously, 2. Possibly limited purchases in Australia/South Africa, Zero to very limited potential for fleet sales etc.

Quote:
SRT CEO Ralph Gilles has hinted the upcoming 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat could pack more power than the Viper, the company's halo model.

"We have a situation where, you know -- we may have a situation -- where the flagship car is not the most powerful car in our arsenal ... how do we explain that to ourselves? So we have an internal horsepower race as well as an external one," revealed Gilles in an interview published in the April issue of Hot Rod Magazine.

Taken at face value, Gilles' statement means the Challenger Hellcat will pack over 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft. of torque. These figures would make the coupe considerably more powerful than the Ford Shelby GT500 and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, its main rivals.

Although precise technical details are being kept under wraps until the Hellcat's debut, power is expected to come from a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine fed by a large supercharger. The Challenger will boast a modified front end with larger air intakes in order to feed the required amount of air to the supercharger, and it looks like the rear end could get a few tweaks as well.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will be revealed later this year and go on sale shortly after as a 2015 model. It remains unclear at this point if the Hellcat will replace the SRT8 within the Challenger lineup or stand as a new flagship model.
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2015-dod...t-hellcat.html

Tasty! Hoping they fit this in the next model SRT Jeep!

The Hellcat will be sweet. I would like to see a Hemi 440 (7.2) return just for the fun of it.
