Au 2 220kw V8
Had it for 2 weeks, ran perfect, replaced oxy sensors, New MSD coils, MSD Leads and fitted up reco Injectors I had as well a Manifold spacer. Continued to run perfect for another week until I removed the battery one night to replace parker globes, reconnected, Now idle has dropped to around 550rpm in park and neutral and is near stalling. Issue does NOT go away once warm either. Once put in reverse and drive it is perfect. still pulls strong and there is no miss. I have again since reset the ECU on the weekend following the correct procedure with no improvement, also cleaned the MAF with no improvement either. I'm absolutely stumped as to what it could be? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Tom

I'm not sure if it's a related issue, but when I replaced the battery in my old AUII Pursuit i got a few warning lights and some odd behaviour.
I recall the ford tech saying they were a bit odd when it came to battery changes etc. They fixed it on the spot for no cost. Having said that i do know people who have disconnected their battery with no adverse affects.

Don't know of this helps but my XR8 (love typing XR8) did the same thing. I now have noise coming from the exhaust and I would say a muffler has gone and needs replacing. Sounds great but the auto will stall when I stop, take out of drive and put in park. Revs have dropped a bit but not as low as yours. Check your exhaust.

Dean I spoke to Matt the night it first happened.
Just put a brand new twin 2.5' catback on it so it can't be that! Anywho, I did just put a spare IAT or AIT, whatever they're called on and seems to have fixed the problem! Will be 100% certain in the morning on a cold Melbourne morning start. Cheers

The ecu has probably been learning it's way around the dud sensor for a while and with the batt disconnect has reset all it has learned. It probably would have brought up a code too.
