Dear Falcon Fanatics,
Ford manufacturing employees, designers and engineers were today joined by 350 of the most fanatic Falcon fans who were given the opportunity to experience the machine first hand in what’s been billed as the Falcon Fanatics Day at Avalon Airport near Geelong. The day allowed the team to showcase the Falcon XR while engaging with fans in addition to capturing exciting video content ahead of the car’s launch next month. Spearheaded by Mark Winterbottom and joined by reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Chaz Mostert, Fanatics lined the tarmac this morning to form a human raceway, as Frosty demonstrated the truly exhilarating drive of the FG X XR8. We are overwhelmed with the overall response from the community, attending from all parts of Australia and although sadly we could not cater to all of our adoring fans we were thrilled with the reception at today’s event. You can view the images from today here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1398200&type=1 Fanatically yours, Bob Graziano Ford President and CEO |

What's with the trend to take photo's on a 45deg angle ?
It certainly doesn't improve the picture, just makes it harder to see.

Damned nice looking car, one of the best since the early 2000's.
Can't afford a new one, but I'll pick up one of those 2nd hand utes. Yumbo!

One of the drive experience cars was an ecolpi.
Not sure how many others were there though.

Big thanks to Ford and FPR for putting on such a great day, nonstop entertainment between filming, drive experiences & onstage interviews.
And complimentary hot food, cold & hot drinks was available all day long. Was great to meet a lot of other forum members & putting faces to names. A huge thanks to Shane(Smciner1) for going to the trouble of picking me up & dropping me off at the train afterwards, great bloke! #FalconFanatic

Bob hinted at continued sponsorship of FPR in V8's that's probably about it.
Another confirmed tidbit is XR8 doesn't have launch control of the RSpec/GTF.

They had 2 XR8's there, a blue one that was used as the drive car and the gold one that was the one they used for filming. There was also a Gold XR6T you could go for a drive in, I did XR8 and XR6T back to back and I can guarantee you the XR8 is MUCH quicker than the turbo.

He brought the topic up of his own accord during his speech, don't quote me as I don't remember it word for word but he basically said that they will definitely be there next year and that negotiations are "ongoing" with FPR at this stage.
The XR8 designers and engineers were also there, from what they were saying it sounds like there will be 1200 XR8's and that's it. Nothing official, but when they were pressed for info, one of them said they had 1200 of every part ready to go and hadn't made any more.
