Default Mustang Pricing. From $44,990 + ORC.

Not bad eh,

http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/news/150...art-at-$44990/

Quote:
THE Ford Mustang will start at $44,990 when it goes on sale in Australia later this year. That puts it within reach of Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo and Holden Commodore SS shoppers, which are both listed at $42,990 before on-road-costs.

The $45K entry price will have the entry-level coupe powered by a 233kW 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbo with a Getrag six-speed manual parked in your garage. A six-speed automatic is a $2500 option.

For many Mustang buyers, though, there will only be one engine to have: the 324kW 5.0-litre V8. Powering the GT models, the V8 Mustang starts at $54,990 for the manual with the automatic adding $2500, making it $57,490. That, too, knocks on the door of the admittedly more powerful Falcon XR8, with its supercharged 5.0-litre producing 335kW, and the Holden Commodore SS-V Redline, with both Aussie-built cars priced at $54,690.

The Mustang Coupe will arrive in local showrooms at the same time as the Convertible, which is pared back to automatic models only. The 2.3-litre starts at $53,990 with the GT V8 $63,990.

That four-cylinder ‘EcoBoost’ engine is expected to make up around 40 per cent of Mustang sales.
While purists may sneeze at four-pot Mustang, it’s the same engine powering the recently unveiled almighty Ford Focus RS hatch where only adoration’s been laid on.

The long-stroke four-cylinder produces 233kW and a strong 454Nm of torque for the Mustang, and while that’s a cry from the flagship V8’s 324kW/542Nm, it offers an official 9.4L/100km against the 5.0-litre’s 12.4L/100km.

While Mustang is a certainty for Australia, with equipment and further details revealed closer to the car’s as-yet undisclosed on-sale date, speculation and rumour still surrounds whether arch-nemesis Holden will import the Mustang’s sparring partner, the Chevrolet Camaro, once Australian manufacturing ceases.

Regardless, Ford has the jump on Holden by offering both its home-grown Aussie performance cars alongside the Mustang in showrooms for, dare we use Ford’s Weasel Words, ‘transition’ to a full-importer.

If this is true, still pushing close to $50k on-road for the EcoBoost. Hopefully they are well speced.

It is true. I'm reading the DCB right now. I wouldn't lie, not like i'm a salesman..... Haha

That's still good value... You're paying mid 40's for a Focus ST!!

Manual v8 on the road for 60k I'll take that, they will make there money in options, so I'm guessing a speced up one would be around 70k drive away with everything

Haha, i'm just pulling figures out of the air. They're probably something like 42ish? I haven't looked in a while.

Same, this pricing has already excited a few potential buyers! Feels good when Ford does something right

There the only options Anchor? So you saying that our stang will be coming standard with the performance pack?? If that's the case then the pricing is excellent value..

For those interested, cutoff date for launch allocation. No word on how long if you miss the cutoff.

The customer orders that will be eligible for the launch allocation will be those received and verified by the Company by close of business (4.30 pm Melbourne time) on March 31, 2015.

Yeah one in particular that has a P6 in the avatar.

Well done Ford, really really well done. Why would you bother with any other coupe under $100k..also a contender for the best looking car under $100k..but a mile.

Ive got a feeling no more XR8 after 2015, looks like they will be pushing people towards the Stang with pricing like that even though they are 2 different cars...

Ford themselves officially said in a press release last year that the Mustang would start at $50k and top out at $70k. That must have been their plan at the time. Following the large backlash here, perhaps someone at Ford took note? Ford do monitor the forums.

Has it been confirmed if the AU spec EcoBoost and GT will be the based on the US base or "Premium" spec?

If the AU cars are Premium spec with Performance Pack than the above prices are pretty impressive.

Great news. Ford have hit the nail right on the head with their pricing. Should have no dramas selling them at that price. Well done Ford.

Very happy and surprised with that pricing! Was expecting the V8 fastback to be $65k+. Good to see Ford being serious about trying to sell decent volumes of this car in Aus.

Looks like the AU models are based on US "Premuim" spec with the optional Performance Pack included

Well done Ford

I thought the same. But from a business POV that doesnt make sense, but Ford have some hard miles (kilometers??) ahead of them here IMO.

$55k for the V8 is right where it should be. Once they have been around for a few couple of months and deals start to become available it shouldnt be to difficult to drive one away for mid 50s. I am genuinely surprised Ford, well done.
