As a new member I do searches and try to find info after logging in.
When I reach a dead end, I google the info and at times it refers me back to this forum as an archive. Then it asks me to login again to view the answer. After logging in it say says "no go as you are already logged in". I can't view the answer what ever I do....You cant view if not a member or are a member.... |

What are you trying to search for? It's quite possible the thread is actually archived or has been moved.

I may be not making it clear. Looking for "grease nipples" on the internet; it brings up some posts on this forum.
That's good. I go to open the posts and get the page to log in before I can open the posts. But I am already logged in of course. Then it asks me to login again to view the answer. Then it won't open and the page just keeps coming back to "log in again" The page has small text that says :If the page doesn't open click here" It is a pretty quick message, but I do manage to click on it and it just resolves back to the log in page. And yet I am at the same time still logged in on another page. The strange thing is that when I type "grease nipples"into the actual forum it comes up with "nothing found" My son is a techy and thinks some thing is not correct on the site, that it will not let a member who is signed on see the info. |

No problem here; what browser are you using? And a forum search on "grease nipples" get me three pages of results on the forum. You haven't got a "net nanny" switched on that blocks porn words like "nipples" have you?

Can you post up the link, I just tried Googling Grease Nipples and AFF didn't come up in the first 10 pages I tried.

Hi thanks for the reply,
It's got me what happened, as it is working now. I actually had it happen three times the other day and now won't repeat. Next time (I hope not), I will print screen the stuff and it may help. Thanks for your patience, If no one else is having the problem it may have been with my Optus connection. I use fire fox and internet explorer. Some times together and no problems in many years and am on cable. |

Back to the same problem and I can't access the forum archives from Google using firefox. So I took some screen shots to try and show the problem. The thing is at times I want info but the forum itself does not find things in the search engine. Or it gives way too many posts. On google it seems to find things easier at times and yet will not let me open the files on Ford Forums.com

See how in picture A there is the web URL listed directly below "Grease Nipples", well that's not fordforums.com.au and looks to begin with numbers (IP perhaps). So maybe that's your problem.
See what happens if you Google whatever and a ford forums result comes up, whether a result with "fordforums.com.au......" as the URL below the link works?

Have you cleared your cache? Running CCleaner often helps with login and browsing issues: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
Simple6 made a good observation too. The google link doesn't look right, try direct http://www.fordforums.com.au/ |

I have seen many results from the forum come up on google with a IP as opposed to the domain name. Clicked into them all I have to do is login then it works.

Yep it comes and goes. I can live with it as once I get the wording right I copy them into the forum proper and finding my info that way.
Just posting for general info. Strange thing the internet. |

Using that link runs old pages cached on google and browsing will log you out.. This is the link:
http://66-226-77-74.dedicated.abac.n...hp?t=11298878& Much better to use the normal login page and search the forum internally. This is the correct link: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11298878 |
