The best way to avoid defects in any state is to make sure your car is roadworthy and legal. Pretty easy really!

Name it.
Blown bulbs are a good one people forget. If you've cut your springs, lowered your suspension down that far you have to remove the bump stops, then you deserve everything you get... |

What's a list of things that can get a car defected to keep in mind so people can keep in mind and make sure there's not those things wrong
Can little things like a screw hole in trim or a loose trim or windows jamming or a very small chip in windscreen faded paint or a small dint those sort of things or bigger things like tyres suspension and brakes Just need a list of things that police would be likely to find wrong at a rbt to keep in mind |

Rims too wide lowered suspension, not enough ground clearance exhaust too loud Rust tinted windows blown bulbs These are just cursory things a cop on a traffic stop or RBT will look at. If they decide they are really going to check you over then obviously engine mods.

A **** box is much more likely to be defected than any clean looking car.
This has to be a wind up lol?

I live in Broken Hill and some time either Sydney or Dubbo traffic guys pay us a visit last time was when they decided it was time for a bull bar inspection
all bars that were not legal the car or trucks got a sticker and a fine well local police got so many complaints that half way through the blitz Sydney traffic left town and all infringements we cancelled lot of guys out this way are off the land and make there own bull bars and they spend most of the time on the station and never go any further than Broken Hill so some times it pays to complain

Anything on a car that deviates from the manufacturer's specification can get a car defected as well as ANY item which is deemed to be unroadworthy.

Just don't go around attracting attention to yourself, don't drive like a nob in suburbia or around other people.
If you've got a slammed car with big wheels which is loud you can expect police attention doesn't matter what you drive. |

If you're really worried just get a safety certificate for whatever state you are in and use it as a checklist
Or more simply, if something is broken on your car, ask yourself is this here for safety? radio volume control - no indicator bulb - yes |

Uneven stitching on the seats.
All panels not polished to the same shine. Not using the correct brand of Tyre black. Burnout wheels on the wrong end. Listening to ABC news 24 instead of Triple J on the radio

I thiink it boils down to if you know your car is roadworthy you should not be driving it in the first place
I moved to Broken Hill 15 years ago and I often go to Mildura and Adelaide and I was only stopped once just out side Yunta I was starting to wander about because I was tired and the traffic guy noticed it He was happy with the fact that I was going to stop and have a break and a coffee and let me go final point if you are not doing any thing wrong you will not be stopped traffic cops have a lot of other important things to to when they are out in the road like finding my mate car that was stolen last week end

Keep it clean looking inside and out and have a good attitude as that goes a long way as to first impressions we make on champion police people doing their duties
Just saying' Try and keep the thing a safe driving machine at all times for everyone's sake tho' |

Flat brimmed hats, seats fully lowered. Seats all the way back. Different rims back to front. Blown tail lights. Chev badges. One blown headlight. Steer clear of Vl, vn,vp, vr, vs, Vt bogan spec. Tuckin rims, rear dragging. Fibreglass outrageous ugly body kits.

RMS in NSW has a list on their website. Just have to look at different sections. One chip or crack in a windscreen won't get you done, but several up to a certain size will, as with cracks, they have to be over a certain length and position on windscreen. anything else just look under the appropriate section on the site.
