if you and your female/male friend are happy doing well whatever , hell yer go for it
don't worry about appeasing others ahead of being happy your self , what ever others say or think they arnt worried about you just them selfs first so worry about your self first them and those wantabe friends second but having said that dont let your happiness run ramped enough to impose on others happiness either lets all be happy and get along if not ill send auntie jack around to sort you out

Not sure what you mean exactly, but you can do most things with friends.
I have a good female friend who is into cars and we went to Summernats together one year camping on site, and the following year the missus came along as well. Also been to the drags together and other car events as she is mainly a car friend. Have another female friend who likes girls, but likes having male friends, we go for coffee and stuff at times and get on really well, she is also friends with the missus. This the sort of stuff you are asking??

I've met most of my life long friends through school or my work. I've retained one from high school and the other two from work, or inadvertently people I met through work to be exact. Yes, they were male friends as I'm male - I mean true friends, the one's you can count on one hand and you would die for.
As for mates well anything goes, common interest is usually what brings you together in the first place. From there you learn about their other interests, their wives and families interests and form a relationship/friendship from there. Hey, sometimes it works fully, sometimes it don't - no biggie, there's plenty of like minded people like you out there. Just gotta find them. I've made plenty of mates and families like minded to me on this forum in Brisbane. Cheers!

I thought the OP was asking about friends of the opposite sex
Hence my reply above, I don't have many female 'friends' that I hang out with, I do have two one is a divorced mum who loves cars and car events, and another is a lesbian, so she has no interest in me. The car one and I have gone away together on several occasions, and my wife has no issues with her, my wife has little to no interest in cars, but will come along to the odd event(mainly for the social aspect not the cars), but she is happy for me to go with my friend. I still have school friends (three) and I am getting close to 50, and I have a few good work friends that I socialise with, I don't have a huge social circle as I am picky who I associate with. I am too old to put up with peoples BS and life is too short for BS.

I've got a small group of friends, 3 in particular who are all guys I grew up with, went through kinder, primary and high school with and they're the ones who we would all go to the end of the earth for one another if required.
I call them 'The Squad'. I've got a few acquaintences who come in and out of my life as time progresses but I don't really care about them, the kind of people who you see at the pub and can chat with, or out and about, not 'mates' but not strangers either. Small group of friends is how its done, keep the group small and keep your beers cold! |

I'm guessing you are talking about a platonic friendship, have had quite a few of these over the years. (opposite sex)
