The guys from Mighty Car Mods finally did a Barra swap after many requests over the years. This was a seriously good production and the car turned out awesome. *The only thing I would have done differently - use a larger exhaust*. Enjoy.

Whilst a lot of work went into the car to get the result, the motor (bar valve springs, bolt ons and engine management) appeared to be stock on the inside. Maybe they have seen the light at the end of the tunnel that is barra not vtec.

Can some one post a vid of a decent sounding Barra? Im not a fan of the straight 6 sound at all and this is one of the worst I have ever heard, but I contend that the Barra T is the greatest Falcon engine ever produced.
Maybe even the best Ford engine ever...or pretty damn close if it isn't. |

Well it is just a straight pipe lol, not surprised it sounded like ***.
Engine is basically stock, but everywhere else they've certainly splashed their cash. Very nice build, kinda disappointed they put it all into one episode, would have liked to see a bit more detail. 9.9/10 for me. |

Once they hit boost for the first time the look in their eyes, they realise that they should have played with these engines a long time ago Lol!

They're using a 6Boost exhaust manifold.

I find it a little funny - how they resorted to using a Barra.
I'll never forget when I went to a Mighty Car Mods track event held at Queensland Raceway. The amount of jokes about the falcon being a boat anchor, and all the JDM or nothing attitude that was thrown around - was remarkable. Then, they go and throw this up haha.

Built for optimal exhaust flow, not for note.

I stil want to throw one of these into an XW or XY.... stock will do just fine...in a 1450kg car it'll be a reliable rocket....
Will do it eventually.. |

I know a guy with an XW, ED 4 litre with a bit of work cam, head, exhaust, top loader and it goes nicely. A Barra turbo would be sensational.
