Toyota wouldn't let them use Edge since apparently they own it, so it's called Endura now.

Can't be any worse than Kuga can it? haha.

Yeah great name and marketing..............reminds me of Endura bumpers from 40 or 50 years ago, Pontiac I think of was?...........foam covered bumpers for dip****s that couldn't park a car.

Cheers Mick

I like it. Looks bigger than the super-popular Toyota Rav 4, so more in line with the Land Cruiser Prado.

Here's the first mistake:
Quote:
The highly-equipped five-seat, exclusively diesel-powered Endura will be positioned as a premium, highly equipped urban SUV offering extensive driver assist features and striking, contemporary design and styling.
Ford in Europe is seen as vehicles of good value with class leading dynamics. Not as premium products (maybe trying with Vignale) and so they are limiting their sales volume before the first rubber hits the road. What is going to make this vehicle more desirable then it's competitors?

Edge / Endura will be built in Oakville Assembly Plant, Canada, not Ford Europe.

an up to date 2.0 diesel and 8-speed auto or 6-speed manual
Hopefully, the 2.0 Ecoboost and 8-speed auto coming to North America joins RHD production.

Have had the pre facelift Endura ST-Line in NZ for a few months now, they look good. The face lift ones will look even better judging by the photo's.

Stupid name though, I would have to debadge it.

Bring the Explorer and F-Truck over to complete the family, and scrap the third world Everest. Then I’ll visit a ford dealer. Nothing in the range is exciting to drive or own, bar the mustang and even that’s debatable

Oh that shXts me, and in RHD too. do you know where they are sourced?
https://www.ford.co.nz/suv/endura/

Why couldn't Ford Australia do the same? big hole in their lineup here.

Starting Price
RRP from $ 73,990+ORC
The NZD is that much lower than AUD is it

They'll then say the market didn't want them cause they didn't sell

This is a nice touch - I don't recall seeing a 'Built in Geelong/Broady, Australia' sticker on my old Territory. Well done Canada.

Yep I fell off my chair when I saw the price, thought it was a misprint. Big price gap between an Escape & Endura.

Aus built Fords used to have something similar...not sure when they stopped doing it.

Endura will be a flop. You have to offer good looks, good performance/economy and a very good price to get market share. If ford do a premium price then punters will pay a bit more and get a BMW X1 or x3. Ain’t going to happen.

I think the idea was that rather than launch the older model then update it within a short period of time, Ford preferred to wait for the face-lifted model and start from a relative clean slate.

I feel your frustration though. It is a massive gap in the Ford lineup, and isn't really a Territory replacement either because it lacks the 7 seat layout. And this from the brand that is focusing on SUV's

I agree, the Ford website calls it premium, and Whickman ( the x CEO ) was on record saying it’ll be premium also

It’ll be a flop if it’s $70,000 no doubt.

it was never going to be a direct territory replacement, but I though at least it would occupy the same price point.

In the 1980s, I vaguely recall stickers on Ford Lasers saying “Proudly built, by the people at Ford Australia” , or something to that effect. I guess that’s when Australian pride actually existed, and we didn’t need to hand third world holes our jobs, careers and industries on a silver platter...
