Default Last Fairlane? Maybe

When my dad bought his Fairlane he was told it was one of the last 2 made.
He is buying a new car and was going to trade it in.
It has been his daily drive and has the expected wear and tear.
I was thinking about buying it off him as a project.

How would I go about confirming it was the last one made?
I have emailed foacust1@ford.com but no reply as yet.
Dad said the Ford dealer is not able to help

The last Fairlane was built 13/12/2007, it's unlikely your October build was 2nd last.

Very unlikely, thanks for your help.
All he had was the word of the ford dealer.

Last one went up for auction for charity, and actually sold for less than retail.
Im sure if you looked online you could find a news article on it.

Why would they make the last one a G8 with all the fruit when they can make it a 6 with no boxes ticked.

I can normally see their logic, but this still confuses me.

Probably to use up components and to show off the high end of their product range.

It was a bit of an odd choice.

Because it’s the last one and it sounds like it was auctioned for charity.
So why make the last one a boring fruitless 6?

I don't know if wires have been crossed here or you didn't catch the sarcasm, but the last one was a stock fairlane 6.

Adamz was questioning why it wasn't a G8.
