Can anyone point me in the right direction on finding some of this.
I have tried several places but it just isn't out there. Even Global couldn't help. Anyway this is it, I think it's called ribbed cordroy. Cheers, JD

You may want to try this mod on the front seats, if you are tall. I'm 6'2" and have done this on an XB, XC, XE, and a ZL Fairlane.
Where the rear of the front seats bolt to the floor there are two brackets. A short one and a longer one. Remove both and put the shorter one where the longer one was. Then bolt the seat back in. Result is a greater angle to the seat base. Much improved leg support. |

I don’t think anyone makes repro GXL cord cloth, although because it wears pretty well compared to houndstooth (which is available through Global) I think the best bet would be to find another set of ginger/saddle GXL seats, and use the covers to repair yours. If required, you could perhaps re-dye the fabric to match.
This is what I did with my black GXL interior. Cheers

Thanks SSVPom, just don't see these seats come up in Perth. The set I have now are the first ones I've seen. The back seat is great, drivers seat is well worn and ripped.
Re dye is a good idea.

Prostitch in Carlton Sydney have a good knowledge and stock a selection of the classic materials. I could not obtain any Ginger vinyl for my XC and they directed me to a Holden material so close to the Ford Ginger and matched my door trims almost perfectly.Cheers

Had no idea that Carlton was even a suburb of Sydney, so looked it up on google maps....only to find it was a couple of suburbs away from where I used to live in Sans Souci. Never heard of it for the whole 18 months I lived there!

Good news too, looks like I've found some material a guy was selling on Gumtree. Not exact, but damned close, it'll do for now and only $50. Enough to do front and back, very happy.

Try Global Trim in regional VIC https://globaltrim.com.au/ The owner Ben is an ex motor trimmer from Ford Australia, and specialises in oldskool Ford stuff. Also a very nice person who is passionate about what he does and loves Ford. Give him a call, just because he doesnt list something on his website doesn't mean he can't help. |

Upon arrival it is a bit darker, only a few shades though, so wondering if what I'm comparing it too is faded. Anyway, enough to do front and back. I've tried GlobalTrim. Everything but. Even checked a few US websites, no luck. By the way, same material used in ZH Fairlanes if you see an interior for sale.
