Hi,
I am buying an XR4 to build into a circuit racecar and need a bit of help! Is there a plate type LSD centre on the market for these yet? Where from ? Anyone interested in buying parts such as: Aircon, carpets, rear wiper, heater system, seats, seat belts, spare wheel, parcel shelf, roof lining, door seals, stereo, sun visors, centre console, etc ? Cheers, Mike |

Im not that knowledgeable on these things, but I take it you know that they are Fiesta ST's. Im sure there would be a heap of info on some UK sites.

Also, and I just noticed the other day. That in the Australian Rally Championship there is a Fiesta (Pirtek I think) racing? Dont know if its FWD or AWD but they should be able to help you out aswell.

THe Pirtek Fiesta is AWD and uses a control gearbox.
Quaife make a LSD for the IB5 gearbox (The XR4 has a IB5 box) and also a straight cut gearbox. If you are after a clutch type LDS not a torque sensitive one search around for something for a IB5. |

Most knowledge wil come from the UK. However, whilst they don't have the Fiesta in the US, they do now race the 2 litre Duratec in the US in the Focus, particularly with the NASA Spec series. So there may be some knowledge to be gained there.

Jump on to www.fiestastoc.com and you will be able to see many highly modified Fiesta's. The multitude of UK tuners tend to post up their project cars as well as other amateurs.
You will find ST's now with 2.3lt and even a new 2.5 with throttle bodies from Jamsport that has 350bhp - still N/A. Pretty much everyone who has around 180-190 bhp has changed to the Quaife ATB lsd. Sounds like a fun project you have your hands on! |

www.pumaspeed.co.uk
www.pumabuild.co.uk www.european-parts.com as already mentioned, QUAIFE LSD. People will buy parts, depending on price. You being in WA wont help though, as many or most of us are easterners.

Thanks fellas,
Definitely want a plate LSD, not Quaife. Class reg's limit me to 2040cc max. The Pirtek Fiesta is AWD and I would have to give them my house and first born child to get any help! Is anyone doing suspension bits in Oz? |

you can import a set of coilovers from WITEC off european-parts.net or you can buy bilstein from AUS.
contact eibach to see if they have anything. otherwise, pedders.

GAZ coilovers tend to be the preferred option for most of the UK guys and I believe thats what the German cup cars use.
KW is another good option and I know that they are distributed here in Oz. I can't remember the name of the distributor though. The Britek ARC car isn't that much help for you because it is a rally car and as such will bear little resemblance to a club sprint car in terms of parts used. |

Pirtek Rally Team are selling both their Fiesta's after the championship is over. I dunno if you wanted to go down that path?

That is the plan. Our cars would make sensational club circuit cars with some tarmac suspension in them, but I think the price might be off-putting

Maybe not - I was seriously considering the Focus RWD car , but it wasn't eligible for IPC racing because of the RWD. At $50000 it was very cheap for what you got.
I anticipate the XR4 will cost around 65-70 in first 2 seaons. |

No offence but wouldn't you be better off putting the car into a production car racing category? By my guess you could get some way into a production car season with the money spent on mods to get competitive in IPRA. Darren Best would be a good person to talk to on the subject

Does anyone know of higher compression, forged pistons that can be machined to suit high lift cams ? Do I have to go custom here ?

best bet would be to email Jamsport in the UK. they know all for NA for the fiesta XR4.

COSWORTH, they get 260hp from the 2L N/A. Compression ratio is your choice between 12.0:1 or 13.0:1. Billet crank revs to 9k |

if you get the 2.3 taken up to 2.5 you can get 350hp.
