Default Movie: The Last Starfighter (the sequel)

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd pop this link up for anyone who's interested. I finally finished a long-term project to write the screenplay of a sequel to The Last Starfighter (the sci-fi '80s film that pioneered a lot of CGI special effects).

You can get the screenplay here (PDF file):

http://www.simplyscripts.com/scripts/TheStarLeague.pdf

If anyone has the patience to read it, please let me know what you think!

Andrew.

I've saved a copy to my harddrive for reading when I have a chance. Before you go sending this round over the net to the likes of us, you should really encrypt it so it cannot be printed or changed without your specific password.

I always liked that movie... I mean, bad hair, bad clothes, bad special effects... but still a great movie. Especially cos from memory it had the Queen song "One Vision"... at the end, when Freddy says "fried chicken" it cuts to them eating KFC.

Have I got the right movie here or am I going senile in my old age? :

Hold on, the Queen song was in another movie brought out around the same time... now if I could just find the CD then it would tell me... it's around here somewhere, with my sanity.

i havent read it but if your serious then get send it off to the Australian Film Finance Commission or whoever that firm is that reads scripts and then gives the YES or No for the go ahead.
you might suprise yourself and actually have it put on film.

Universal own the rights so it'd have to go to them. Films have been picked up from SimplyScripts.com so I am hoping for the same miracle with mine!

But when I have the time I might do another draft and pitch it properly. A sad fact is that the actor who played Grig passed away while I was writing it (he would have been too elderly to play it anyway).

Someone suggested I incorporate Alex's younger brother Louis into it as well, which I had intended to do as a starfighter instructor pilot who is living on Rylos.

Ummm no! lol I know that movie, they did the soundtrack for it. Same with Highlander.

On their album It's a Kind of Magic (Highlander soundtrack), the first song (One Vision) was on from another movie around the same time. Gawd, this is gonna kill me!
