service my car the other day, chucked on the new filter and it leaked more than the last!, by comparing my escort 1600 to the capri 1600 the capri does not have a flat face for the pump to seal on. it has a inner lip different to the escort. they both have the same part no.
anybody encountered this problem? the oil pumps are physically different (escort at a right angle, capri angled to clear steering rack) so anybody stumbled accross this problem or has an alternative. the pumps may have been redesigned as mine is an early capri '69 cheers michael mk1 escort 2 door mk1 capri |
