Hey guys. I am looking at getting 2 12" subs and am not sure of what to get. I know its an audio section question but I am basically looking at JL audio except i have found some Rockford Fosgate ones. Is this a reputable brand?? and if so how does it compare to JL audio?

Yeah they are a pretty nice sub when you power them right, put one in me mate triton ute a while back...
If you have the money buy one (or two) in a RF Punch loaded box, look good, sound even better... |

I've heard of people putting 6" soeakers into the 5x7 hole wiht a bit of fiddling around, but not 6x8s... has anyone put a speakers this size into a AU/BA/BF front door? Do the 6x8s fit the parcel shelf as well?

i'd imagine you would have to get spacers or something.... or cut the holes bigger.. which is illegal to do on the rear parcel shelf.
i dont think you could get them into the front with spacers.. and i think in the back they would hit the window?? why would you though?? whats wrong with 5x7's lol and imo fozzy gear is awsome, really good stuff but overpriced... i cant comment on JL apart from the woofers, which are up there with the best of them.. |

both brands are excellent products, both are made in the US.
if its subs youre looking for, id go for the JL's. JL made their name making subs, theres plenty of development gone into their designs. im not saying rockford are crap, im saying JL are better. |

Both are very highly respected brands. Ultimately you will want to listen to them to gauge an opinion on how they suit your needs.

I have two JL 12s ... and they are nice subs ... but I have seen two Rockford 10s put out some fantastic bass ... clear and deep.
Both reputable products ... if i had the cash ... I wouldn't mind trying some RF subs (once my JLs get old and tired.)

i havent had anything to do with car audio for nigh on 10 yrs.... but an educated guess would tell me that they are both pretty darn good. I would personally go the JL's but my preference is only personal and is very subjective.

I have a couple of p1s in my car and considering they only get 150wrms each they go damn hard for what they are. Jl Audio make some very nice subs as well so really you can't go wrong so listen to both of them and make your own decision as you are the one that has to listen to it day in day out.
