I'll be having my gf picked up from school in a Pursuit ute (she loves them), and taken to meet me for lunch. Should be a nice surprise for her.

A big night out with the boys, arrive home about 5.30am reaking of beer and bourbon, give the gf a tap on the shoulder and say in a drunken drawl "Ow about a bit lurrrv"
Always a romantic way to a womans heart on Valentines day.lol

Masters ... Im somewhat stuck as well ......... my b/f is the romantic kind ..... but its been so long since I have had anyone to celebrate this day with that I have almost forgotten ..........
Maybe 4 kids kind of ruin the thought as well & being on a Monday, a night out is not going to happen around here ............. |

Flowers always help. Im modding (ricing) my girlfriends car for her On saturday, and then ill surprise her with something... not a bill for it either I'll figure something out.
I suggested a Defensive Driving Course, because she had a bit of an incident the other night and its scared her a bit. If you want something nice, instead of getting 12 roses at once for Valentines day, why not get her 1 rose every week for 12 weeks. and a nice card to go along with it every time. $60 well spent i reckon

If She works, you can't beat having flowers delivered to her work place.
I have not yet met a Woman that does not love recieving flowers in front of other women.

The Maddestman got his present early this year, I found Ford Racing tshirts half price so I got one for both of us. Already both of them are signed by Graham Robson and waiting to be signed again on the 20th. He may get something else small on the day though. ;)
He knows what I want, 1 Evanescence tshirt and poster thanks. Oh he gets paid tomorrow too, I'll have to send him out shopping. :hihi: If you read this honey.. I love you! : : : : I'll need a staw soon. :P

Ok... Ideas, ideas, ideas... Before I start, let me just say that putting such importance on a single day of the year is ridiculous imho, romance should be 24/7
Some women like jewellery, although others (like me) think it's a waste of time and moulash and don't wear it - specially when you lose a precious stone by bashing your hand somewhere under the bonnet. A drive to a nice place (country, beach etc) for a picnic that YOU have prepared (not your mum) followed by coffee and cake is always appreciated - if you know she's watching her weight, tell her at the beginning of the day that whatever food she consumes that day is officially fat free being Valentine's Day : Give her a gift voucher for either a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure (she'll love you). Uhhh tacky lingerie is not always appreciated, neither is that nun's habit and chicken suit you ordered in specially for the occasion. Tasteful lingerie is good though, better yet a gift voucher for her favourite store. Don't get perfume unless you are SURE she either a) uses it already or b) has told you what brand she really wants. Flowers are usual, and some women expect them! There are a few ideas, anyone care to add to them???

I'm not really into it all. Not really much of a romantic (you'd have to meet me to understand lol) but I agree with Bindi. I think a voucher is a nice (and safe) idea.

We don't celebrate it..
It works like this... if your good enough to each other during the year and occasionly by some 'just cause' presents... you don't need a commercial day for..

Seems like such a commercial thing to do.. Buy someone that you love something on a random day. That means much more to me than on a day that the shops decide. I get flowers all year round. But then again.. I'm spoilt. But as previously mentioned - Some women EXPECT a gift. Buy a mushy card and flowers, or better yet, make a card. Breakfast in Bed, Romantic picnic, and if the weather is bad, picnic on the loungeroom floor with candles.. followed by a sensual massage! : |

It's true about celebrating on one day a year. It's more of a surprise if you get something just because any time of the year.
I buy The Maddestman things if I see something that I know he likes or needs all year if I have the cash, he does the same thing. When I grabbed the tshirts, the first thing that came to mind was Valentines day (probably because of all the advertising around me) so I gave it to him and said Happy Valentines. However it is a good excuse to find a babysitter and spend some time together alone. :

I'm with the girls on this one. I don't 'do' Valentines Day, I leave love for every other day of the year instead ;) But in saying that, we forum girls must be different to most.. most girls expect something (usually big, glittery and expensive and in the face of other girls as mentioned).
I'd go the flowers in front of others, dinner out, a card etc. |
