Talking Cruise to AU DAY from North/NE to ALBERT PARK

Well since the S/E guys have made a seperate thread for their meeting point to the BBQ. I thought it'd be a good idea to get a list going for us on the North, North East to Albert Park. This way we can get an idea of numbers and ultimately i'll make up a bit of a map which i'll print out and give us all a copy for the route we should take to get there, which will keep us together as much as possible.

The meeting point will be Bell St McDonalds. Cnr Bell St and St Georges Rd Preston.

Anway, we should be able to get a quality convoy going... more details to follow... ripper!

Oh yeah.... the time! Well i reckon we should leave Maccas at around 11:00 - 11:15. We can clearly meet up a bit earlier at 10:30 at maccas or so. The route im thinking of will probably take about 35-40 mins. So as long as were at Albert Park Sometime around 12:00 its all good.

Sweet As....

Yep... it'll be awesome. Even if we get all 12 of us there it'll be a great cruise there. As i said, i'll make up a map on the way we should take to get there before the event, print it out and give it to everyone on the day. Hopefully we can all stay together, but is always hard when your battling traffic lights. The route im thinking of is fairly good as far as the lights go.

See ya all soon

Awesome guys... this is looking like being a good cruise with a decent bunch of cars. As far as the route there goes, "lv619" has provided a good direct route, but i have attached a map with a route where we can cruise on 3-5 lanes the whole way and avoid MANY traffic lights and single roads with tram tracks that the direcdt St Georges Rd way will present. This route also has the freeway, all of 3 lane BELL ST and then 4 and 5 lane Punt Road all the way to Toorak Rd and basically Albert Park. Plus it'll probably only take us 30-40 misn MAX, so if were meeting 10:30 - 11:00 and leaving 11:15 sharp, we'll arrive at Albert Park in perfect time.

What do you think? Ive driven all these roads for years and feel the vibe on this way there...

No tolls on that side of the city... the Eastern Freeway lives up to its name.... its free!

All the toll ways are on the other side, monash freeway, citylink etc.

I think this will undoubtedly be the best way for a cruise so we can convoy, drive beside each other and avoid those single lane roads with trams and ALOT of traffic lights.

As i said i'll print up a bunch of maps for everyone and written directions for the journey.
