Craig Lowndes Hits The Beach For V8 Supercar Season Launch
V8 Superstar Craig Lowndes swaps his helmet for sunscreen on Tuesday (February 14) in an unusual start to the 2006 V8 Supercar Championship Series when his car literally hits the beach.

Lowndes and the 888 Falcon will make an appearance on Street’s Beach at South Bank in Brisbane , a sight sure to make the last of the summer holiday makers take a second squint through their sunnies.

The favourite for this year’s Championship, Lowndes will be at South Bank promoting the 2006 season launch in the Tenth Anniversary year of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

Time: 11.00am Tuesday February 14

Venue: Streets Beach, South Bank Parklands

Who: Craig Lowndes and the 888 Ford Falcon

The 2006 season launch will take place at South Bank on March 4 with more than 15,000 fans expected to attend. It is being held in conjunction with the Brisbane Motor Show.

At the launch, the Series will unveil its 2006 look and feel to the public when all of the drivers, freshly painted cars and more than 15 spectacular transporters will be put on public display along Little Stanley Street.

The heroes of the V8 Supercar Championship Series season will be on hand to meet the fans.

Adjacent to that a mini-carnival of V8 Supercar team merchandise, giveaways, games and other attractions will promise the public a great day out for the family. The 2006 V8 Supercar Championship Series launch is completely free and will be open to the public from 10am-2pm.
