Hi all,
I am new to these forums and it looks like a great place to find some good info. Question i am looking to trade my trusty old EA Fairmont Ghia in for either a XR8 Sedan, Fairmont V8. The fairmont looks like a more comfy car (me being a big person) but do they go hard enough? Any help would be appreciated. |

Depends, what you want.
If your buying brand new get a runout BA mark II XR8, as they are around the 42 grand mark atm. You wont find a Runout BA mark II Fairmont V8 brand new, plus they will probarlystill want 40 grand for it, a BF Fairmont V8 will set you back around 50k on the road.. The XR8s have better resale to! If you want to buy something a bit older, do yourself a Favour and get an AUII or III XR8 with the 220 KW Windsor, these are comfy and they have plenty of GO..

The 3 valve v8 goes plenty hard enough and the fairmont is a comfy car, but don't be put off the XR8 because you're big. I'm 6'7" and 120 kg plus and i fit into my XR8 ute without having to put the seat all the way back, that's if you're talking BA, others i'm not sure about.

as far as price goes a new BF stock XR8 in Auto would be around $57,700 on the road and a Fairmont Ghia V8 would be around $62,900 on the road.
Both are great cars to option the XR8 up to the specs of the Ghia it would end up costing $64,618. |

Welcome to the forums.
I personally would go with a BA XR8. Although from what ive seen the Fairmonts seem quite nice inside. |

Go the fairmont V8. For an extra $5000, you can make it dance like a GT. Go and have a look at the aussie car enhancements forum on this site, you'll be amazed!!
