Report Time

I Know a little of topic but just a proud dad sharing.

Anyway i learnt very early on not to tell another parent what they should do with thier children ( unless you want a war ), but thought i would share some of our efforts.

Since primary school ( grade 1 ) we have never made our children do homework, but helped them if asked and in addition we decided to reward the girls for doing well, so we set up a scheme where by an C was worth X$ a B woth XX$ and an A worth XXX$.

Thought it was a bit of fun but the girls soon learnt that by doing well at school they could earn some $ for the school holidays.

They seemed to be enjoying it and we went for the ride, With our first girl almost finished school and an A grade student our second daughter has bought home her first report from high school. ( both girls were high achievers in primary )

As above this is not about telling others what to do or not to do but i will let the results speak for themselves, and the final result / aim is a life lesson in a way put more effort in and there are rewards in life.

Am I right in assuming XXX$ is 3 figured, say $100?? or were they just randon X's.
If it's $100 you'd be dead broke paying $700 for JUST 1 term. :P

Doc, be proud, thats a terrific effort and a great "return on investment". Kids are a hard slog, seeing those sorts of results lets you know you are doing it right!

It Does run into the $100's but not $700 ( but i have 2 of them and they both do as well as each other ), i didnt put the amount as its not important, so long as the kids see it as a bonus to them. it could be A = 15 B = 10 C = 5,

Straight A's is more common than not from both girls, every now and then there is a B or C but that soon bumps back up by next term ( some how they don't like the loss in reward / spending money )

Not sure ? first time i have seen it as well, must be something new ? all i know is i would use it thats for sure ( some rules ae meant to be broken : )

Most report cards for employment purposes will be year 11 & 12. Not year 8

Fair enough, but it would just be a template for all students yeah? They would just wack in whatever details are required. Doesnt matter really, I just thought it was a bit odd.
